I ran this through one of the online calculators. It's a yagi for the low-ish end of the US ISM bands. 906Mhz i think i used. It should work with Meshtastic. Not exactly unwieldy. I'll hafta measure some of the ones i see here and there and see if this is what they are

These photo backgrounds work out the best of anything so far for covering and dimming 18 foot of window and they were on sale. I am pleased. When i put plastic up for Winter I may trim them to lighten the overlap since they work so well during daylight
