Beats & rhymes in 80s-90s including for DTP with Rudy Pardee, album canceled(look up 100 Proof on YT). Then did underground hip hop in late 90's to 00's. Then did homebrew PC Engine music, fx, dubbing etc VGM covers
I enjoyed this game as a kid. Seems like Cinemware was involved. I think the canceled TV Sports Baseball(a late build can be found online) is the one where NEC got another dev to work on it. Then all 4 were supposed to be on a CD for the Duo. From April/May 92 TurboPlay
Bonus info for this game. Hero Tonma and Meikyūjima/Kickle Cubicle were made for both the PC Engine and the Famicom. But, they only released Kickle Cubicle for the FC, and Hero Tonma for PCE. The speculation is that the two canceled games weren't released because of Nintendo's policy at the time.
Another one that is probably pretty rare is the Vistar 16, which was sold in South Korea along with their own version of the PC Engine shuttle.
Interesting, only the Super Famicom Zan games. There is one PC Engine CD Zan, however they would need to cross license with Taito which probably would raise the price significantly.
There's also a PC Engine CD version with even more added stuff that's not in the HuCard version.
This game has not one, but two translations in the works! There was a third at one point as well until they learned about the other two. At least one of the translations is planning on making adjustments to the seizure-rific stuff thankfully.
New build of HuCC for PC Engine development is up on GitHub. #PCEngine #TurboGrafx #TurboDuo #gamedev #homebrew #IndieGameDev pcengine.proboards.com/post/19723 And here's a description of the update:
Unfortunately, it looks like the translation for Fire Pro Wrestling Universe game for the PC Engine Arcade CD is being put on the back burner for now, due to a lack of overall excitement in the community for this particular game.😢
The first Legend of Heroes did get localized back in the day for the PC Engine/TurboGrafx-CD. The second one was supposed to, it was on various "coming soon" lists but I'm not aware if any work was ever done on it.
Nope, nothing that fancy LOL. Honestly, I consider the artwork the polar opposite of the first game, since Dungeon Explorer 2 uses the Japanese art. The North American version of the first game looks like it was done by a five-year-old.
Haha, it has an interesting name when Google tries to translate it! This might be the canceled turn-based RPG that supposedly was going to be multiplayer. But at least in this translation, I see nothing about that so it might be a different game.
Maybe you've already posted about it, but just in case, here's the PC Engine/TurboGrafx-CD version.
There's one on that list that doesn't belong. Chase HQ, it was released officially in the West. A few of those on the list are in the work, like Download, Benkei Gaiden, Sindidbad and maybe one or two others that hopefully will be released soon.
Upcoming Hudson Soft event: 2025.11.01 (Sat) Loft Plus One Hudson Night "Re: Hudson!" Insiders from Hudson, Compile, Naxat, and AI will talk about the history of games. What are the untold secrets of games? www.loft-prj.co.jp/schedule/plu...
Yeah, the majority of TurboGrafx stuff was horrible redrawn art. The worst was Dungeon Explorer IMO. On the other hand, Dungeon Explorer 2 actually used the original PC Engine artwork.
Is Konami doing something with the PC Engine CD game Ginga Fukei Densetsu Sapphire?? Possible new trademark for the game! #PCEngine #TurboGrafx #TurboDuo #Konami #HudsonSoft #RedEntertsinment
Almost got a North American release as Fantasy Star Soldier. The iso is available online. It's missing the voice acting unfortunately. I'm not sure why it got canceled other than maybe just being too late when it was ready, because TTI was winding things down?
Bonkinator was definitely a thought at one point, but obviously didn't stick. My choice for a name, unfortunately was Crunch. Needless to say, I didn't win the contest! LOL
This is essentially a sequel to platformer Makai Prince Dorabbochan on the PC Engine. The pce game is fun, but graphically it doesn't push the hardware. Came out in 1990. It's one of those games on my list of pce games that I think should be hacked and redone graphically someday
One other fun fact. Arthur in Ghost Manor is supposed to be basically an SD version of my friend's dad! www.mobygames.com/person/13381...
Fun fact, WD was going to publish the first World Heroes & King of the Monsters 2 for TurboGrafx-CD. In the mid-90s I used to occasionally talk to Don Shirley he said both were surprisingly accurate & were finished. Unfortunately there's been no ISO leaks, & these are the only pics I'm aware of
I understand why they did it, but it would have been neat if they kept Doraemon in. Instead they redrew it based on the Japanese arcade version called Booby Kids. Though the name Booby Kids probably wouldn't have gone over well at the time in North America LOL
