I know what the answer is so this is purely a rhetorical question, but why are American officials talking about the nebulous "West" and its interests rather than, say, America and its or its people's interests? This is why the Founders were scared of having a Catholic president.
Interacted with this person for the first time only to find that they are even more self-absorbed, schizo, and operating under exaggerated credentials than even Karl, aka brainnotonyet, even was! medium.com/@bobbie/on-r...
having an encyclopedic knowledge of beefy, athletic men that you remember seeing on TV 2+ decades ago is fucking gay as hell
I was recently given the Kindle that belonged to my grandmother who now has dementia. She exclusively used it to read the Bible. I found a "Bible Quiz" game on it and decided to play it to see how well I did. This was one of the questions, and the answer with the checkmark is the expected answer.
adding to the "Ellie falls victim to motivated reasoning" megathread
if there is a single person who legitimately suffers from "Trump Derangement Syndrome", it's Aaron Rupar. Nothing good can come from fearmongering about another pandemic. Bird flu, ebola, monkeypox, etc. all failed to become pandemic.
I agree with Ellie on 98% of topics but she has this obvious motivated reasoning streak where her own personal history of discrimination in an affordable midwest state has radicalized her against any government interventions to make places affordable, and treats non-coastal states as lost causes.
The people who don't think prices are a problem. Also, I just read the article you posted, and the section about social media was about "people who did/n't say prices were their top priority", which is different from "people who say prices are not a real problem".
okay so here's how I think balkanization will go
shit like this is why I went from No Kings defender to skeptic. The organizers just want record-breaking protests to pad their resumes. There are no demands attached to these protests. We've had two already to do networking and express discontent. Fucking do something with your rolodex.
I am tired of hearing pink-nippled Anglos and Huns claim that they share a common culture with me. You sissies can't even handle mild Taco Bell sauce.
Compelling argument for why we shouldn't have done Operation Paperclip.
> media outsiders aka people who don't do reporting professionally and don't have expertise > handful of ... individual investors you mean dark money
ah there it is: it was made by engineers, not journalists, educators, polisci or policy people, literally anyone with any sort of expertise on this topic.
Looking into Ground News, which several left-of-center politics vloggers have been recommending or are sponsored by, and I see this list on their site:
Unlike you, I get my news from a RELIABLE source
tell me you've never met a leftist in your life without telling me
This is not a different conversation. This is my original comment in this thread that you and I have been replying to. You can't just talk about building more homes (which will only lower prices in the long term) and then fail to address the immediate issue of people being priced out now.
Imma level with you guys: I don't really care if the white house gets demolished. I couldn't give a rat's ass about the building, and I think most liberals trying to make this into a big hairy deal secretly feel the same way but think this will be useful from a rhetorical standpoint.
(this assumes a somewhat broad definition of white)
