Of course Amazon was already outpacing Google, and so they helpfully stopped reporting these stats in 2023 (Chart from linked article)

Annual power consumption by company including Apple Meta Microsoft Google and Amazon, in increasing order. Amazon's last data point is in 2022 at around 40TWh. Google has since surpassed that but we can only assume Amazon continues to increase.

I made my Ayaneo Next Lite into a Steam Deck tonight. Literally everything worked out of the box! I'm a belieber!!

It's once again... ah, you get it. I found some really weird bugs that drove me to the brink of giving up. But I have it working on PC, MiSTer, and BlueRetro now.

Tested out the 3rd revision of my 15-way RGB switcher. I had realized I was clipping all the audio in half because the muxer couldn't pass V<GND. Managed to find audio muxers that keep the cost low, added a charge pump to provide -5V. Audio is good now! Still learning...

Well shoot, I think that does it. These little guys can download your photos from every one of the four WQV model camera watches, from tiny Game Boy Camera-like grayscale to 90s webcam-like crunchy colour JPEG, and pop up as a USB drive. Needing ancient software and unobtainable hardware: solved.

So to do all this reverse engineering i bought "junk" WQVs from Japan. The WQV-3 had a busted camera and the screen on the WQV-10 was burned out to like 1% contrast. I really love how the 3 looks, so today I swapped in the camera from the 10 and it works! Super classy.

I developed WQV-1/2 and WQV-3/10 support as two different firmwares, and I had this idea to abuse the OTA update system to dual-boot. Hard to show but I'm long-pressing a button on the rear; this modifies the boot record and reboots. Customizing the partition table is insanely easy too!
