The most tone deaf editorial I've ever seen from a local news outlet. But thanks @mlive.com for dissuading me from subscribing
These are some amazing headways. "WMATA is back! Randy Clarke rules because he peddles a lot of merchandise." Sincerely, Rachel Kurzius WMATA reporter extraordinaire
The Post in 1971 published the Pentagon Papers, arguably the most consequential and courageous act of journalism in US history. Now, 55 years later, it's reduced to this
DC drivers are going to be big mad to see these long needed bumpouts at 14 and Spring NW. Thank you DDOT!
Very interesting that I saw not a word criticizing Rubio for the Venezuelan government's pitiful response to its earthquakes. Rubio has been calling the shots the entire time.
Anyone else's photos not showing up in Blusky via a web browser (I'm using Chrome).
Today in DC transportation policy: Today's a federal (observed) holiday? Then there's no need for bus lanes! Feel free to park on them! WMATA: OH, it's a federal observed holiday on a weekday and you want off peak fares? Eff you. You're paying full freight.
Thought it was early enough for me to safely go on a bike ride. Horrible idea. Now I'm hanging out at Gtown Gourmet trying to cool off. This weather is no joke.
Beer of the evening: Right Proper Big Tomorrow IPA. Full bodied traditional IPA. Would probably be better if a little colder.
The Downtown DC World Cup watch party is pretty lame so far. Tiny ass screen and long line to get in. Thanks @notmurielbowser.bsky.social !
There was a USPP helicopter flying circles around the South Lawn when I was down there 90 min ago, despite the event not even taking place. Seems like it's still flying. Another waste of money.
Love how the WSJ picked a club match photo for a World Cup story. Extra credit for picking one with Flamengo in it, though.
There is a small protest outfront of DCUSA. Which of course requires seven MPD squad cars and a handful of officers watching from inside. No wonder Muriel Bowser has zero crime strategy other than "we need more police". Because MPD wastes police resources monitoring minor protests.
@wmatagm.bsky.social this is SO confusing. Why can't you just list them by nearest trains? The website refresh was a waste of money, btw.
