New LEGO build! Been looking forward to this one ever since Andor finished.
I usually work from our Copenhagen office once a week and today it was freezing cold traveling there and back, but I love how the city looks in winter when the sky is clear and the sun is out. This is the Vor Frue Kirke (Church of Our Lady) right next to the office.
My most anticipated game for 2026 is so obvious (GTA6, assuming it will release this year) that I’m just going to add a top 3 on top of that: Forza Horizon 6, Wolverine and the Tomb Raider remake Legacy of Atlantis.
Done! This was an incredibly fun build, maybe the coolest one I’ve ever done. Ingenious connections and very true to the original Game Boy in size and functionality, including movable buttons. The on/off switch and game cartridges with swappable screens are real highlights.
Took the kids on a trip around Christmassy Copenhagen today and we went inside the gorgeous Marmorkirken for the first time, which looks extra impressive with its cozy Christmas lighting.
And the smug 1st. (Had to screenshot this from the stream because I remembered it so vividly when reading your post.) 😅
Reminds me of the Danish “nå”, which has a million use cases, but the first and only time I tried to use it my wife looked at me disapprovingly.
After a somewhat scary drive because of the weather, we spent a very wet weekend at the Lego House and Legoland in Billund. Despite the rain, the kids had an amazing time playing with Lego, spending the night in a knights-themed room and having pretty much no lines at any of the rides.
Completed Herdling. It didn’t really grab me as much as some other smaller cozy vibe games, but I grew fond of my little herd of capricorns that I let pick their own names. Daya was indeed a little rascal, always getting things stuck in her fur.
Playing Space Marine 2 and I love how your commanding officer tells you “this mission is of vital importance, the survival of humankind depends on it” and then goes…
Finally, after 5 sessions, with checkpoint resets and strategy refinements, my brothers in arms and I completed The Division’s Iron Horse raid on Discovery! It was magnificent, I will never forget this. It also got me to 100% Achievement completion on the game.
Meanwhile back in Holland: I don’t really drink beer, but now I’m tempted.
It’s here! Can’t wait to play Mario Kart with my son (and some Zelda by myself).
I picked up blueberry (big in Finland) flavored Moomin coffee in Helsinki a month ago and it was so good that I ordered all the other flavors they have: salted caramel, chocolate, hazelnut and, of course, salty licorice. I was surprised how much flavor came from the coffee itself, not using syrup.
Excellent house warming party at @rawpowergames.bsky.social today, featuring medieval boy band Pøbel!
Back from a great wedding anniversary weekend in Helsinki! 🇫🇮 First city trip without the kids, who were having a great time with my family in law while my wife and I visited the sights, shopped a bit, had good food (loved the reindeer & smoked cheese soup), met up with friends and tried to sleep in.
My kids got me this Red Bull LEGO F1 car for Father’s Day (today in Denmark) so I will be building this with my son soon. He couldn’t wait to put the smaller Sauber together.
We’re on a family trip for the long weekend around Rødby and today we found Thomas Dambo troll #82, Frie Vilje.
Share your last four played games to expose your gaming habits. Pretty mixed bag here as well. 😅
Finally finished watching the Double Fine PsychOdyssey documentary. It is obviously phenomenal and the best look behind the scenes you'll ever get, but there's one quote specifically that stuck with me and rang true after my almost 18 years in game dev. Added as image because of length:
In 2024, we settled in at our Roskilde home, where the kids love the area and daycare. We took some nice trips, including twice back to Holland, and went on a sunny vacation. We celebrated our 5 year anniversary, and my recent 40th birthday. #bestnine #bestnine2024 #home #vacation #celebration
I just learned that King’s Day in Holland will actually be on Saturday if it falls on a Sunday, which will be the case in 2025. This will be so confusing to tourists again, they showed up 3 days late when Queen’s Day turned into King’s Day and was moved to the king’s birthday instead.
For the first time in possibly forever, we have a real Christmas tree! Had a fake one when living with my parents and never bothered when living by myself. Now we have this one for our own family and hosting Christmas Eve for the first time. I take no credit, all I did was put it in place. 😅
Belated 40th birthday present from the wife and kids. My old Series 1 Elite controller was a little worn down, the grips started to peel and the thumb sticks are completely smooth. 😅 Looking forward to putting this to good use with some amazing 2025 video games!
