Posting on social media in a personal capacity about stuff I like, such as running, hillwalking, social history, big books, terrible music, and awful football teams.
It's been a while since I've seen a Lada Niva. An aspirational vehicle for 1980s Communists, but better suited to climates where rust is a lesser risk than in Scotland.
Some of us are quite pleased that this game is exactly as dull as some of us predicted.
Glad they finally made the sequel to this. Looking forward to seeing it. #odyssey
Now that the three seals are out, here's an Argentinian Prince Harry mermaid that you might appreciate, in light of your show this year. We came across it outside a seafood restaurant in Buenos Aires. Your guess is as good as mine.
We recently inherited a pair of old cats from a friend after her sudden death, as it was the only way to keep them together. They now spend most of their life sleeping on my daughter's lap, so she was able to do a wee portrait of them. Boo and Buzz.
I took some overseas students on a tour of some of Scotland's scenic highlights today. Loch Lomond, Inverary, Glencoe, etc. Their favourite? The Green Welly Stop, proving my family wrong for all those years, and me right.
Football without hydration is back. Partick Thistle 3-0 at halftime against Brechin City in the first competitive game of the new season. It's like the football never stops.
May the best team win tonight. Yes, they MexiCAN as mi abuela used to say.
Every year the Glasgow Mela is held in the middle of summer in the city, in order to catch the heavy rain and avoid any risk of heat stroke for those attending. They've nailed it again in 2026.
I did pick the day when the Partick-Govan bridge was out of action to head south of the river to sunny Govan. Govan Old Church and the Fairfield Museum are free to visit 11am-4pm over the summer.
Had a lovely afternoon at the cinema with my wean. Supergirl was suitably entertaining nonsense, though I was surprised to see that the 'planet' in the early sequence was recognisably a dreich moor in the Cairngorms.
Trying to decide which book to read next. Graeme Armstrong's 7 hour playlist of shite rave music that can be listened to while reading his book may have swung me to Raveheart.
As it's #InternationalReggaeDay here's an issue of NME from 1985 about Misty In Roots playing in Moscow, at a gig I attended that first introduced me to their delights.
Walked up below the Kingston Bridge in Glasgow today for the first time since the concrete support pillars have been painted. Nicely varied.
We go again, already. Pollok v Partick Thistle at Newlandsfield Park. And no ad breaks.
I've seen Belle & Sebastian umpteen times. They are annoying and endearing in equal measures but I always leave their gigs with a smile on my face, and it was the same again in Glasgow tonight. In part it's because the two instruments I played (badly) at school, trumpet and flute, are to the fore.
My son a few years ago wearing the Aya Huma he bought in Quito. Seen a few of these in the crowd for the Ecuador v Germany game tonight, though none atop a Scotland top.
I'm the DJ at home tonight in the build up for the game. What do you want up next? We Have A Dream or Ally's Tartan Army?
Scotland 0-0 USA. Friendly football match at Hampden Park, November 2013. #soccerball
We all know there's no need for these fucking hydration breaks/ad breaks.
