Semi-pro loudmouth. "My mind ain't so open that anything could crawl right in..."
RIP, Gary Dwyer a/k/a Rocky a/k/a Buff Manilla a/k/a the gentle giant of post-punk Liverpool. I know a lot of my old mates are heartbroken today. What a lovely, lovely guy you were.
One of the 🐐 and the platonic ideal of the one-club player. RIP, Franco Baresi.
As I just saw someone else put it; three old First Division trophies, one European Cup, one FA Cup, two UEFA Cups, one Bundesliga, three lower division titles as manager, two Ballon d'Ors and one of the greatest memes ever. #YNWA
Finally, this is me preparing a response to anyone describing Andy Burnham as "a scouser".
Honestly, I think I preferred Blair when he looked like a cross between Bob from Twin Peaks and the sort of raw food/tantric sex/wellness guru who'll corner you at a house party and subject you to a 20-minute lecture on the proven health benefits of drinking your own piss.
21 years ago today, at around 10pm-ish, I came back into the house following a much-needed half-time ciggy (I was still a smoker then), plonked down on the sofa, turned to my beloved and said; "This is going to be the longest 45 minutes of my life." Suddenly... #LFC
And what is there left to say about Robbeaux? Greatest LFC left-back of all time in the greatest #LFC side of all time, and you can argue with your mam. Laughing in the face of the fucking tit Pickford and shithousing the🐐as we shove Barca off a cliff and ruin their season. God, I'll miss him.
He was a genuinely great pop songwriter. When he caught his second wind during the 70s, it seemed as if he was never off the radio. Then there's this NME cover from a little over 50 years ago. Here we are, with punk about six months away, and a forthcoming Neil Sedaka tour is still front page news.
What an actor. One of that rare breed who was always great, even when he was appearing in absolute crud (which wasn't often, to be fair). RIP, Colonel.
This is at the front entrance of the apartment building in Mpls where my friend lives. Obviously there's the "that sign can't stop me cos I can't read" factor to consider, but I imagine it might cause at least a few of these shitheads to hesitate rather than immediately try to force their way in.
