The hypocrisy of all of Big Tech and our governments pushing generative AI is unreal. Big tech has pirated the entire creative output of humanity. One rule for them, one rule for us. Reject this pure corporate propoganda about AI. Support artists.
Attending press conference of the campaign to save Carlow College. It's crazy how this college is being closed down, with 87 jobs being lost and the removal of humanities education from the South East of the country.
No more data centres! Serious investigations need to happen by Uisce Éireann into water usage in data centres. Nobody knows or even seems to want to know how much water is being used by these energy-guzzling data centres. #BanDataCentres #HosepipeBan
We need answers from Uisce Éireann (Irish Water) about water usage in data centres. Nobody knows or even seems to want to know how much water is being used by these energy-guzzling data centres. We need a ban on any more data centres. #BanDataCentres #HosepipeBan
We know that out of control data centre development has led to 23% of electricity being consumed by data centres. A recent report found that data centres consume 80% of electricity in Dublin, yet Uisce Éireann can’t or won’t tell us the effect of data centres on water consumption.
Discussing with people tonight in Tallaght about An Post's plans to move our sorting office to Lucan. This will be a disaster for workers and our community. It will mean having to travel to Lucan to collect missed parcels. Pressure to get An Post to drop this plan is growing.
For anyone who needs to collect a parcel or missed delivery, this move to Lucan mean a long trip across the city. For the workers, it means upending their life. In Rathfarnham, a public meeting and local protest helped get An Post to defer the closure of the Edmondstown sorting office til next year
An Post are planning to shut the Tallaght delivery office and shift operations to a hub near Lucan. For anyone misses a delivery, that could means hours of travel just to pick up a parcel. Many people don't drive and the public transport links to Grangecastle are not good enough.
An Post pensioners have been scandalously betrayed by this government. All promises and guarantees they were given have been broken. This situation must be rectified. #FightForYourRights #JoinAUnion
Introducing a Bill to stop the scandalous use of Shannon airport by the US military. Stop using our country for your illegal unprovoked and murderous wars.
Unfortunately our Bill to ban hare coursing has been voted down by FF, FG and SF. The annual cruel practice of capturing and terrorising thousands of hares will continue. The politicians are wildly out of touch with the public on this one. We'll be back and we will win a ban!
To defend the indefensible of hare coursing, a fake study with 'figures' are made up about how 'beneficial' it is to the economy... even if the figures were real, it wouldn't justify this cruel practice. Will the government correct the Dáil record? Or allow this made up nonsense to sit as 'fact'?
Billionaires shouldn't exist, let alone trillionaires. We need a left government that will take on the interests of the billionaire class, instead of one that represents them, like FF, FG, and their right-wing independents.
The government shamefully votes against including services in a ban on trade with the Israeli settlements in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. They have gutted the Occupied Territories Bill to please Trump and US corporations. We need complete sanctions on Israel.
We need to put on as much pressure as possible before the Dáil votes tomorrow Wednesday night. This is a long-awaited opportunity to finally end one of the cruelest blood sports, which is already banned across nearly all of Europe. #BanHareCoursing
There's less than a week before we will be voting on our bill to ban hare coursing. Far from a urban-rural divide, a higher percentage of rural Ireland voted in favour of a ban. The majority of people want this cruel "pursuit" banned. We have to keep the pressure on before the vote on July 8th.
Why won't they give a free vote? Is it because they know if given the chance, enough TDs would vote to ban the cruel 'sport' of hare coursing? Our bill will be debated in the Dáil this evening, with the vote taking place next Wednesday 8th July. Keep the pressure up to #BanHareCoursing
Strong NARA protest outside the Dáil with a simple demand - BAN HARE COURSING! Our bill to ban hare coursing will be debated in the Dáil this evening, with the vote on it next Wednesday 8th July. Will your TDs be supporting this bill? Or allowing this cruel blood 'sport' to continue?
As the EU pushes ahead with an €800 billion military build-up while remaining complicit in genocide, we need to build a movement that challenges war, austerity, and the billionaire class profiting from both.
On Thursday, my Animal Health and Welfare (Ban on Hare Coursing) Bill will be debated in the Dáil. It'll be voted on by TDs on the following Wednesday, July 8. This is a long-awaited opportunity to finally end one of the cruelest blood sports, which is already banned across almost all of Europe.
This is a chance to finally end one of the cruelest blood sports, which is already banned across most of Europe. The debate is tomorrow Thursday 2nd July (with protest outside Dáil at 1pm), with the vote on it the following Wednesday 8th July. #BanHareCoursing
The government is abandoning its climate commitments and pawning off the future of our young people by doubling down on fossil fuels. Shannon LNG will be a disaster for Ireland’s transition away from fossil fuels.
Invest in homes not drones! People out on the streets to oppose the EU on the first day of Ireland's Presidency. The "pillars" of Ireland's Presidency are "competitiveness, values and security." In other words, deregulation, Fortress Europe and militarisation.

Tomorrow the Irish EU presidency kicks off with government and top EU leaders meeting in Dublin Castle. A coalition of anti war and Pro Palestine groups, students, neutrality activists and others have come together to organise protests over next months. Join the action!
Amazing to see such a huge Pride. The majority of people in our city & country want to see a society based on respect and equality, not division and hate. The demonisation of LGBTQ people by Elon Musk & Co is a blatant attempt to divide ordinary people while the billionaires and their parties rule.
A huge victory against Council rent hikes in South Dublin CC just now. A S.140 motion instructing the Council management not to proceed with their rent increase on 1 July passed 15 votes to 1. The sole vote against was shamefully the Labour Party. Other FF/FG/LP Cllrs boycotted.
Good news! After nearly 6 years, our 'Ban Hare Coursing' Bill is finally progressing to 2nd stage in the Dáil. The debate is next Thursday 2nd July (with protest outside Dáil), with the vote on it the following Wednesday 8th July. #BanHareCoursing
The Council management tried to prevent this meeting from going ahead. But after a threat of legal action, they have conceded this meeting will happen today. Even if this passes, council management have indicated that they will not listen to the vote... #StopTheRentHikes #NoRentHikes
After nearly 6 years, our 'Ban Hare Coursing' Bill is progressing to 2nd stage in the Dáil. The debate will be next Thursday 2nd July, with the vote on it the following Wednesday 8th July. Please share, sign the petition, and contact your TDs so we can pass this bill to ban this horrific 'sport'.
