Speaking of low flybys, here's Steve Spencer and I shining our asses back in the early 80s. If anything, we padded the legal minimum altitude by 500 feet. Of course when we flew next door in Germany, we weren't as considerate! #carryonpatriotsmyass #igotsometestosteroneforyou
Damn, I love this old Seiko! I cropped most of these photos to hide my arm, which looks like I had to claw my way out of a collapsed building. Not to worry, it’s just age… one surprise after another, the older I get. #wristwatch #bigseiko
I put a post up on Facebook just now, and see that someone or something added book club-style discussion questions to it. Which I did not ask for and how can I disable this new feature?
In my experience, these no-spoilers crybabies are the same people who butt in to ask what the book you're reading, or the show you're trying to watch, is about.
The California Air National Guard is hiring! There's an unlisted requirement, though: applicants must have 6-9 fingers per hand. #eaglebot
Whenever we overflew France on our way south from the Netherlands, it was radio silence. French ATC wouldn’t speak to us. Only acknowledgement of our presence were the contrails of Mirages trying (and failing) to intercept us up at FL500. BTW the big one was a nuke bomber. #eaglebot
Today is the last day my wife can still claim to be a woman in her 70s. Spare a thought for her, please.
Not mine. It reminds me of a guy I flew with at Kadena who, as flight lead, would brief the exact opposite of squadron standards (altitude blocks for red/blue air, radar sorting order, etc) just to be contrary. #bigseiko #airminded #sierrahotel
1 of 2: Went to get takeout for dinner and was utterly defeated by a touchscreen "ordering kiosk." Had to ask for help from one of the three busy cooks preparing everyone else's orders.
This photo was not staged. I know it's a lot, asking you to believe that, but it's true. #desertdachshunds
I'm starting to feel the love for smaller watches. Both of these, my wife's Casio Forester and a Timex Expedition from my own collection, have cases almost 40mm in diameter, typical of men's watch sizes, but noticeably smaller dials, just under 30mm, and IMO they look fine on men or women. #bigseiko
One of these mornings I'll be walking the pups and we'll start hearing car horns blowing all across Tucson. What a jubliant day that will be, and it can't come soon enough!
Stars & Stripes independent? YGBSM. The New York Times could take bothsidesing lessons from that rag!
Remember how in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, she realized her college roommate was a demon when her toenail clippings kept growing?
My watch o' the day is a Casio Telememo. Does it take memos? No. But I like the bold numbers and wish the dial was completely analog. #bigseikos
Today's walk was a WX abort. Lulu & Fritzi take a dim view of rain. #desertdachshunds #bigseiko
My watch o' the day is this Casio moonphase. The day of the full moon is the best day to set the moonphase, because it's easy to see when you've got the moon perfectly centered. Today being that day, I might as well wear it too. #bigseiko
