Improvements include a new 355-foot long sidewalk. Portions of the new sidewalk are seven feet wide while some sections are 5-feet-wide to preserve existing street trees. This project also includes new ADA-compliant curb ramps at SE 74th Avenue.

New sidewalk was added to the north side of SE Thorburn Street between 73rd and 74th avenues, filling a sidewalk gap that was identified as a high priority in Portland’s Citywide Pedestrian Plan and creating a safer and more accessible route for people walking.

This closure will be followed by a full closure of SE Division Street from 48th to 50th avenues on Aug. 3. Regional travelers passing through the area should use SE Powell Boulevard or SE Hawthorne Boulevard as alternate routes.

Here we go, SE Portland! The repaving of SE Division east of SE César E Chávez will be in full effect this weekend. The work requires a full closure of SE Division, 24 hours a day, Saturday Aug. 1 through Monday, Aug. 3, from SE César E Chávez Blvd to 41st Ave.

This free community event, led by PBOT and funded by the Portland Clean Energy Community Benefits Fund will feature vendor marketplaces, community booths, free family-friendly activities, live entertainment, and more.

PBOT’s Vegetation Maintenance crews cleared 170 cubic yards of debris (over 20 truckloads of brush!) on SW Broadway Drive last weekend. Under the overgrown brush, crews found signs and a hydrant, mitigating fire risk for the community who lives and travels along this very busy roadway.

Work is resuming on NW/SW Broadway, starting tomorrow, July 23 through early September. Crews will be installing concrete traffic separators along the northbound bike lane and installing planters in the southbound bike lane buffer from NW Glisan to SW Oak streets and SW Yamhill to Clay streets.

PBOT crews cut back and cleared overgrown vegetation along the protected bike lane on SW Hillsdale Beaverton Highway before having a street sweeper come through to sweep up any thing left over. This work is funded by the Portland Clean Energy Community Benefits Fund (PCEF)!

Congratulations Portland, we did. We just secured the title for Largest Electric Bicycle Ride and Party. With an official count 1060 people on e-bikes (plus more on pedal bikes or riding on an e-bike) we broke Seattle’s record of 405 e-bikes and made Portland history together.

We're starting to uncover some cobblestone. We know that there are old streetcar tracks down there, but we aren't removing them. We only grind down about 2-inches and then we'll add new asphalt on top.

What started in July 2016 with a fleet of bright orange bikes available to rent in the Central City, has grown into an all-electric fleet of bikes that serve the entire city with more than 250 stations across all four quadrants. Since July 2016, users have taken over four million BIKETOWN trips.
