Sunrise over Monument Valley. Here are the West Mitten & East Mitten. The 3rd, Merrick Butte, was named after a silver miner named Jack Merrick who was killed by the Native Americans in 1880!
If you ride the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad (Chama, NM -Antonito, CO) you would've crossed the state line 11 times between NM & CO. This is one of those crossings. A sign stuck in the ground in the desert marks the spot. Photo shot 2024.
