Infantry soldiers sometime joined convoys to reach point B when choppers weren't available in the #Vietnamwar and time was of the essence in the mission - especially when jumping off or collecting near a road. Most convoys included gun trucks as escorts: cherrieswriter.com/2019/02/04/g...
