I'm very impressed by the fact that, while Hell is Us has high-fidelity graphics several large areas to explore, the whole game still weighs in at a measly 25 GB or so. In comparison Tekken 8 and Street Fighter 6 both have less stuff IMO but take up over 100 GB each.
6. Knives Out The big reveal was predictable and thus anticlimactic, and some of the characters are one-dimensional in how unlikable they are. But I enjoyed the film regardless. Some great performances in this one. When I heard Daniel Craig talking like *that* my eyes popped out like in a cartoon.
I already knew that they were full of shit, but somehow they found a way to be even more full of shit than I expected.
5. Returnal Great game even though I'm not a big fan of roguelikes, but of course would've been even better if I was. Highly recommended.
1666 Amsterdam Prologue. It's *not* a demo, because it likely isn't representative of how the game will play, it just primes the story. Interesting stylistic sense, but horrible performance and too many jump cuts with the camera. Not sold on the game yet, but I'll keep an eye on it.
I finished the Onimusha demo. I'm not used to the controls so the combat wasn't completely smooth for me and I kept pressing the wrong buttons, but that's a skill issue and feels good otherwise. Had the game on my radar anyway, but I'm more interested in the full game now than I was an hour ago.
I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that Aion 2 was made with generative AI, but I am disappointed.
I've been playing a lot of Total War: Warhammer III lately, and this guy Ku'gath has some truly exquisite line reads. It's really too bad that the credits don't enumerate who played which character, and they're all just credited as one big list of voice actors.
5. Apothecary Diaries, 2nd season Quite good still, but not as gripping as the first season was, and I wasn't as interested in the overarching plot as I was in the episode-to-episode mysteries. Maomao also got some much needed character development, which improves my overall impression.
4. Mortal Kombat II Saw this in the theater and it's a good action movie. All I really wanted was to see cool shit happening and that's what I got. It's just too bad that Johnny Cage didn't rip anybody's spine out through his asshole and then shove it back down his neck, but I can live with that.
Rolled credits on Pragmata. I liked it a lot, and was impressed that they had the discipline to stay focused and not pad the game out with nonsense. This is a very appropriate length and size. The story mostly goes how you'd expect, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I recommend this one.
I picked up PicoCAD2 out of curiosity. I have no idea how powerful it is, really, but the UI design is impressively intuitive because I have literally zero experience with modeling, texturing, etc. and I was able to make this, admittedly extremely simple, medkit model without a tutorial or anything.
3. Apothecary Diaries, 1st season Gave this a shot on a whim just because I'd heard some people say that it's good, but then I ended up binging the whole thing in a few days 😅 It's a really fun detective story and whenever one episode ended I had to see what would happen next right away. Great!
2. Flying Witch I fell ill in January and wanted to watch something easy and light. I decided to rewatch this iyashikei show from 2016 and It delivered exactly what I wanted. It's a shame that they haven't made any more seasons even though the manga is still going today.
I finally beat the Nioh 3 demo. Probably the most generous demo I've ever played. Movement doesn't feel great, but the game is basically good so far. Still think they're tripping crazy style if they think this is an 80€ game though.
It's Miary Zo for me. I mained Reina before, but Miary is even more fun to play.
I didn't have enough time to finish the Nioh 3 demo yet, but the start seemed pretty fun, so I took a look at the Steam page. Now, after seeing these prices, I think they must be smoking some *serious* crack at Koei Tecmo headquarters.
1. Bocchi the Rock! I was hooked after the second episode. At first I was expecting a stronger focus on the band playing music on stage, but now I don't think that that approach would have been as entertaining overall. Very good. Will definitely check out the 2nd season when that airs.
I like it. I also liked the beret-wearing preset and so at first I was going for sort of a similar look for my char, but then I pivoted to this. I couldn't get any better shots though because even the little demo area is too heavy for my laptop 😅
fuuuuuccckkk At maybe the worst possible time my PC is malfunctioning. Hopefully it's just the PSU that's broken and everything else is intact. Component prices are too damn high right now thanks to the AI bubble and I can't afford to replace everything.
Tekken 8, despite a rough season 2, is still my favorite fighting game. Miary is so fun that I think I'll be sticking with her as my new main going into 2026. After 2XKO's launch the MM in GBVSR took so long that I kinda fell off that game, but I'll return to it soon too.
I still have stuff to farm in Monster Hunter Wilds, but mostly I've done everything in the base game (excluding AT Arkveld next year) and I'm happy to say that it's the best base game MH I've played. Easily my GOTY 2025, and the defining game of my whole year. Looking forward to MR for sure.
