Halloween is getting creepier.

The last few years have seen the start of Spooky Season creep earlier on the calendar, with candy and merchandise hitting retail shelves a full three months ahead of the actual holiday.

I never count on PDX drivers stopping for me ‘cause I’ve almost been hit too many times. I have a messenger bag, umbrella, & a granny cart that’s made out of highly reflective material. The umbrella can also be used to thump cars that are trying to run you over. That’s my pedestrian uniform.

Let them fight over which style of cursive before they pass any laws about it. That should take forever & the issue will solve itself.

Which type of cursive? There are many. I prefer Italic style cursive, myself.

Black Youth Suicide Prevention Coalition seeks Adult Advisory Council

The Black Youth Suicide Prevention Coalition is looking for adults to join its Adult Advisory Council. Council members support youth who lead suicide prevention and mental health advocacy.
Adult advisors work alongside Youth Wellness Consultants to offer guidance, share resources and help shape prevention efforts that reflect Black culture and community needs. Adults with lived experience, professional kills, or strong community relationships are encouraged to apply.
This is a volunteer role. To apply, submit an application by Feb. 28, 2026.

Last week, an ICE agent killed Renee Nicole Good in Minneapolis. This terrible tragedy is not an isolated incident — it is a horrifying escalation of the months of operations by ICE and other federal agents in neighborhoods across the country.
