Friend told me a couple of days ago that she'd ordered some books for me to cheer me up a bit. These are they! I'd mentioned that I hadn't read Tolkien's translation of Beowulf and that I was considering a Tolkien-related marathon read as it's been literal decades, so she sent these.

Paperback copies in shades of green of The Adventures of Tom Bombadil, Tales from the Perilous Realm, and Beowulf (together with Sellic Spell). They're part of the Harper Collins Tolkien collection.

A friend got me a couple of healing (?) crystal keyrings for next week's court case. Empath & Inner Peace. Not sure if I believe in their efficacy, but it's a sweet gesture and it won't hurt to have them with me.

Two healing crystal keyrings in plastic envelopes. The left hand one says Empath on the card and lists the crystals: Amethyst (purple) - calm; Black Tourmaline - protection; Rose Quartz (pale pink) - compassion. The right hand one says Inner Peace on the card and lists the crystals: Amethyst (purple) - peace; Rose Quartz (pale pink) - trust; Lapis Lazuli (dark blue) - vision. Both also have a silver tag with an R on it.

Daily #BirdWatch 4/4 Look at this handsome male Mallard! He was perched one-legged on a stone fencepost, snoozing & oblivious to passersby, until I'd been standing alongside him for a couple of minutes! He woke up, quacked a bit, but stayed where he was when I spoke quietly to him. #UKBirding

I am literally standing close enough to him to touch him. Of course, I didn't - because he's not a pet he's a wild bird. But he was surprisingly relaxed while I was standing alongside him and talking softly to him, telling him exactly how gorgeous and handsome he was. As I walked away, he went back to snoozing.
