Riding a Lime bike around London today. So much fun and not many cars on the road.
“Women are the superpower of American sport.” Great discussion this week on the Speaking of Bikes pod with Brendan Quirk of USA Cycling. On YouTube and all the pod platforms.
I'm devoting some of my energy these days to getting more bike infrastructure built in LA around @la28games.bsky.social. So I attended the excellent @movela.bsky.social conference yesterday in Long Beach. Great chance to speak with leaders in person.
It @nithyaforthecity.bsky.social gets elected, she’d be the most bike friendly mayor in the history of Los Angeles. Exciting.
Huge victory today for LA road safety and bikes. The LA River Bikeway was unanimously green lit by the LA Metro board. I was there in person.
UCLA-Paraguay in the FIFA World Cup/Los Angeles. These seats are on the secondary market, but still...STARTING at $1,000 per ticket. Who is going to pay that, for that match, to sit in the nose bleed seats?
Got to check “Watch Ohtani get a base hit at Dodger Stadium” off my life list tonight. ✅
Looking forward to reading the new book by @davidepstein.bsky.social, which just arrived:
Mark Riedy and I recently recorded a podcast episode with Phil Gaimon. I decided to turn the transcript into a blog post, so you can read it. He had a lot of interesting things to say. medium.com/@peterabraha...
Welp...I guess I'll keep waiting for @la28games.bsky.social tickets
Today I attended the LA Metro board meeting to speak about the $430m LA River Bikeway project. It's just one vote away from a greenlight. The board includes @mayorofla.mirrors.bot, Supervisors @lindseyphorvath.bsky.social & @hildasolis.bsky.social & Inglewood mayor Butts. Fingers crossed.
I enjoyed speaking yesterday at the Bicycle Leadership Conference about the work I'm doing with PeopleforBikes to get more bike infrastructure built in LA around the LA28 Olympic Games. There are so many opportunities to improve the quality of life in LA by making our streets safer.
This is the least expensive gas station in my area. Up a dollar per gallon in the last week.
This week's podcast episode features my friend Juliet Scott-Croxford of Brompton Bikes. She talks about how they’ve built the world’s most unique bike. A good listen no matter what business or product category you work in. On all the pod platforms + YouTube.
We recorded a pod episode about our 2025 Bicycle Trend Report with ace journalist/tech reviewer James Huang. On YouTube and all of the pod platforms.
On our podcast, we spoke with Pedego CEO Larry Pizzi to understand the complicated world of eBikes: regulations, safety, tariffs, batteries and Rad Power's near collapse were all part of this discussion. Apple Podcasts: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/s...
Thanks to World Champion Mathieu Van Der Poel for coming out to our group ride in LA this morning. He was so patient & friendly.
Today a 70-ish year old woman in a BMW screamed at me and flipped me off for riding in this bike lane. I have been attacked many times on my bike, but mostly by bros in pickup trucks. Is that changing now? Cc @pflax1.bsky.social
I rode in L’Étape on the brutal Stage 8 course of Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift. There were 6,000 riders and nearly 40% were women. It was just extraordinary, and it feels like a phase shift is happening in cycling.
Sober reminder near my house of a cyclist recently killed by a driver. We need more safe places to ride.
Yes, but will Europeans travel here to watch the games, and the Olympics? The data says no.
@officialjackwhite.bsky.social tonight at Hollywood Palladium with my daughter. So good!
Fantastic week at Sea Otter Classic. The elephant in the room at this huge event was the needless trade tariffs that are inflicting incredible pain on the bike industry and the employees therein. On the upside I rode the 90 mile Fondo this morning, which was glorious.
Terrific and hard ride yesterday up Mt Lemmon in Tucson, Arizona. What a privilege to be able to do that.
With my friends Tim and Scott this week at the Bicycle Leadership Conference in Tucson. A great event by @peopleforbikes.bsky.social that gets the whole industry together.
Wildfires in March in Oklahoma (!!) have temporarily shut down my friends gravel race. Climate change is coming for sports and many other things.
