By the way, here's an example of a big Baltic subulitid from a little earlier in the Ordovician: Subulites gigas (d'Eichwald). As you can see by the scalebar, it's pretty chonky, too. I'm not sure that I'd be able to distinguish the Anticosti species from S. gigas: but that's a subulitid problem.

The snail on the left also could be H. gigantea, but there are other candidates. The one on the right is a subulitid. These also had aragonitic shells and thin ones at that. This represents a parallel (and original!) development of a neogastropod-like shail. Even the steinkerns will show a siphon…

And here is an example of what happens to aragonite only shells! However, the size gives this away: it's almost certainly Hormotoma gigantea, which was a chonk. Interestingly, the "Chonkotoma" species also start off in the Baltic: we get a lot in the Boda limestone, often with better preservation.
