Are people aware that the Commonwealth Court just nuked City Council's relatively new practice of authorizing by resolution an individual councilmember to appeal land use decisions? Yup, it was Councilmember Young's fault. Now, they need a mayoral signature or there's no standing.

On Mamdani's terrible "rugged individualism" vs. "warm collectivism" line, we've been living collectivism for quite a while. Sad to see people from both sides of the current political spectrum--democratic socialists and national conservatives--look to kill the remains of liberalism.
NYC has one to commemorate the inauguration of George Washington. It was meant to echo the Roman Republic. So I'm not all that sure about the sole association.

I think this refers to Philadelphia Code § 9-1132, which prohibits retailers from charging more to cash users. That would prohibit a retailer from rounding up. Rounding down would be pretty inconvenient as it would require a ton of nickels on hand.
FYI, the domestic worker laws treat all people who hire cleaners or babysitters -- not "business interests" -- as employers. And no one is following those laws because they're impossible to comply with. And they exacerbate immigration status problems.
The City/Mayor has started a youtube show where Chief Administrative Officer Camille Duchaussee "has coffee" with city officials. No coffee is drunk, but a cup is present. Why? I can only assume the Mayor wants people to appreciate how the city employs people. For what? Who cares.
