Sometimes it simple treatment can transform an image. The one on the left is the raw data on the right a plot of randomness of the same data, white being more random.
Quick redesign of my next boat. Might buy an old optimist and use the foils and sail. Designed for 25 knot easterly at snells beach at high tide. Getting better at freecad. Attaching labels seems at bit ropey still.
At the end of summer I threw some NZ flax seeds into my vege garden to see if anything would happen. So far 5 seedlings have popped up so I ragweed them to pots. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a flax seedling before so I was quite surprised they germinated.
Redesign number? The main hull for the Waka. Struggling to get the below waterline displacement right and shift the COB back far enough to out the rearward so the bow can be fine. A big fat transom would solve the problem but I need to keep the stern narrow. So it look like I need a big bulge.

Good to be back in NZ and now I ask my self those familiar questions. Did that really happen? Is Japan even real? Something about the light in NZ makes it look more real than the constant haze of Japan.
One of the last bunks-jutaku houses left in the area. They were built cheaply post war. Most have been replaced with townhouses with no green space but car parking despite being less the 5min from station. These days it probably be demolished and made into a private carpark.
Japan has some of the most beautiful coastline I’ve ever seen but is tragically spoiled by a tide mark of ocean plastic. It seems an impossible task to ever clean it up. There’s probably a small truckload ever 100 m

Nice spot for morning tea. Adachi museum of art. One of the top Japanese gardens in the world. Well worth a visit
Well.. I found out why 2nd hand Kei trucks are ridiculously expensive in NZ. It’s because they’re ridiculously expensive in Japan. 20 years old trucks going for about 30 to 40% of new. 10 years ago you probably couldn’t give them away.

My zojirushi thermos that has given exemplary service, travelled 100s of km rolling around in the bottom of my kayak and canoe, seems to have died. Next trip to Japan I must replace it.
