Hello — I am not dead yet! I am just very, very tired. Have a motivational (and sodium-overloaded) Garf
I'm running low on my stash of Weird Controllers, but the Keyzen gets a shout-out. Azeron makes quality stuff. Only picked it up when I found a fella selling it + a Cyborg for the price of 1. The original, blank keys are a bit short/small, so I replaced (most of) them with taller caps.
Our newest episode, AN INTRODUCTION TO THE MUSIC OF YASUNORI MITSUDA, is out now! Casual reactions, music theory analysis, and much more this week. And don't worry—we touch on hidden gems and non-game music, too! Ft. co-host Nick of @fngcpod.bsky.social . Hope you love the show today—links below!⬇️
love it when Quantic Dream haters find each other in the wild
More weird...mice? I switched to trackballs in 2025 and have come to love them. They've come a long way from the crummy, old-school thumb balls from the early 2000s. This is a "gaming" one, which imo only serves to inflate its price. Smoothest one I own, though. Very handy for audio editing, too!
Another "weird controller" installment: the Logitech G13, long since discontinued. Still works perfectly well with modern games. Everything is mappable, so you could, in theory, map WASD on the keys and use the stick for...whatever else. The stick angle is its Achilles heel imo (played Kena on this)
They weren't kidding when they said the 3D remake is the best (official) English localization.
KENA: BRIDGE OF SPIRITS is out now! Many who picked up this deceptively cute title learned of the Souls inspiration quickly—but what does Kena have to say as a game itself? Discussion on combat, character writing, and more. Ft. co-host @chipdip.bsky.social Hope you love the show today—links below!⬇️
I am a *huge* fan of Weird Controllers. I'm using this weird fella now to practice—"practice"—for a local Smash tournament in July. Unfortunately I am ass, but I'm looking forward to having fun with cool people. Do you have a favorite weird controller?
I would die for Antoine (and Tita tbh...but mostly Antoine)
Live reaction of me comparing my understanding of "a square" to what I see on my television screen
The 240p Test Suite is an amazing tool if you want your CRTs looking primo. It might also be the worst retro gaming-related thing to have ever happened to me
The final episode on CHRONO CROSS is here! Many have said that this game "undoes" Chrono Trigger. This couldn't be farther from the truth. Join us to discuss the dangers of nihilism, Scenario Guys, the Chrono Series's most important character, and more. Hope you love the show today—links below!⬇️
Delightful vibe on this one! The Patreon folks voted for Grandia (over Pragmata!) this month, and I always love filling in a JRPG blindspot. Killer little cinematic intro!
It was the cruelest of tricks to have been sent this and believe, for just a moment of childlike bliss, that such a thing could be mine. (It sold in March)
