I stick my neck out for stories with unpleasant characters and subject matter. However, mushoku tensei is clearly written to justify these acts and rehabilitate the perpetrators.
Which makes their relationship with queer fans even more comical. Games may throw an LGBT bone but outside rare occasions are tied in knots to not plainly state it. GBF is better than most for queer content, yet the shark lesbians in wedding attire is oh um they're doing an advert but maybe haha...
It isn't surprising this became a breeding ground for all sorts of bigotry. Gacha, live service in general, have a deep issue with entitled fans. Ones who believe they have a hand in its course and image. In some ways they do. It satisfies their hate and the idea less of them more for you.

Tears of Metal is a game I always imagined should be real. Dynasty Warriors for other cultures just makes sense, and while this isn't leaning much on the history side it is neat to see Not as wild about it being a choose 3 roguelite tho
The new GitS anime is fun, but I think it shows the odd dynamic of more accurate adaptations. For example the pacing had no room to breathe. Cause it was trying to go panel to panel, when as a manga there's implied hang time. Yet it also didn't adapt everything, including some cute gags.
If the new GitS anime adapts this I expect to see these screenshots every day from here on
If Denji ever gets into a fighting game he should have a Pochita install at low health like MvC3 Dark Phoenix, and in that mode have a super where he eats the opponents. If you do this in a mirror match against another Black CSM you get a unique part 2 ending win screen.
An underappreciated aspect of Virtua Fighter C is how much they held back on effects. MvC screen aneurysms are fun, but they aren't right for every game. Especially when done poorly and destroy needed visual clarity VFC seems to be keeping it subtle outside special hits, which makes them stand out
Been thinking about Chainsaw Man and Buddhism again. The common western view of hell is eternal, but in Buddhist Naraka is a phase. One you have to go through to burn off your misdeeds. Through that lens, Pochita is saying Denji is simply not ready to grow right now. It will take another lifetime.
While I have issues with Kagurabachi pinning a lot on sad cause (probably) Chiaki died. Potentially Akemura's racism stemming from his feeling of inadequacy compared to his sister rather than just protection could play into something more interesting.

UE5 realism does feel over done, but the real enemy is a lack of style while devs are forced into a few safe bet genres. Realism can have variety. Virtua Fighter is realism. But a fighting game, with reggaeton, graffiti style, slick camera work, dynamic block animations. Starts to stand out.
I try to avoid the story pre-empted fans, but 231 does feel addressed to those who identify with Denji. They so deeply desire that power to get over the line which will make them happy, those mistakes aren't really fair. But power regardless of consequences to finally make you happy won't work out.
There is a degree of truth in it all though. Things can get better but you can't fight all the evils in the world. You will be forced to live in a somewhat cruel reality, with a boss baby sister and stinky demon chained to your soul. Where your comic book heroes give you some joy but are just dreams
For many that is the fantasy. A justification resolves all rather than remains a lingering issue. You really see this in how insistent many are Denji never made any choice. Yet he does, both heavily sign posted, smaller decisions and how he chose to live. To be CSM is a choice with consequences.

Deathbattle actually getting CSM Part 2's ending better than most is bit sad Feel how you want about it, but a good chunk of the internet really is just going off vibes and agenda. Better criticism has been snuffed out by purposefully not getting it, and making excuses to still be mad when they do
While the love story of America and War in chainsaw man is funny, it might be a play on the themes of identity and change. America can't change without outside assistance, it will fall back into its old ways and shape those around it. Our only chance is nurturing each other into our best selves.
Pretty horrible fate to lose yourself in someone you kind of recognise as yourself. One that absolves you but isn't will to relinquish its control.
I'm critical of Asa's lack of insight as the story goes on. But perhaps Fujimoto saw less distinction between the two. Also worthy of scrutinizing, but if so how much was this Asa disappearing into her other side? Identity, losing yourself and becoming your abuser are common themes throughout CSM.
I hope Asa and Yoru share a VA cause I think it's important to obscure if they are or aren't the same person. Where does her engaging with the (fake) shonen fantasy begin, and guilt/disgust she feels from all these actions end? It is not the same outlet as Chainsaw Man is for Denji, yet it is one.
