Is this where I can cash in my MGoPoints?
First chocolate babka, but I think my yeast was a bit old... Should taste fine, but not exactly beautiful.
Always nice to start Thanksgiving off with an easy, make-ahead breakfast casserole (hat tip to the in-laws for the recipe, but it’s about as basic as recipes get) that will tide you over until a late dinner.
The Chair Company has somehow continued to up the weird every single week.
Focaccia is out of the oven. Got a little toasty during the last minute or two, but that never hurt confit garlic, shallots, and rosemary.
Focaccia dough has been slow-proofing in the fridge and will get baked tomorrow. Tonight's project was Yule Logs (one to bring, one for home). More of a Christmas treat but the impressiveness to effort ratio is off the charts. Chocolate sponge, Kahlua chocolate buttercream, dark chocolate ganache.
Friendsgiving prep has begun. Up first is meatballs. Baked them last night to get some sear and then frozen. Into a slow cooker tomorrow to simmer in a simple marinara.
Wondering if @vicmmic.bsky.social has ever seen the Extremely Accurate Birds calendar before.
Any time you can hit the In-Laws with a bomb dessert in their own home, you gotta.
