Today, I questioned Supreme Court Justices Elena Kagan and Amy Coney Barrett at a House Appropriations hearing about the exponential rise of “shadow docket” decisions.
I asked Trump's billionaire head of the Small Business Administration a simple question: "who pays tariffs?" Her response was an insulting denial of reality. As a former small business owner of 37 years, this is personal to me. Watch here:
Yet another horrific ICE shooting. This time in Maine. Joan Sebastian Guerrero was fatally shot, driving to work, with his 3-year-old daughter in the car. The is the second ICE shooting in less than a week. ICE is making our communities LESS safe and must be held accountable.
We cannot allow this blatant corruption to be normalized. When we're in the majority, we will investigate it and expose the full truth. wapo.st/4w1u8xW
Great town hall last night in Racine, WI! We’re going to keep organizing and fighting alongside the people who deserve a government that works for them, not just the wealthy and well-connected.
Karoline Leavitt thinks that young people concerned about rising prices are being “raised with silver spoons in their mouths.”
Former Education Secretary Cardona talks about the years-long attacks on public education. Listen to the full episode here: youtu.be/rbyE8DoED0g?...
Lowering costs is a top priority for Democrats. We need a future everyone can afford.
Republicans' “Big Beautiful Bill” passed the House one year ago today. Basically, everyday people are paying more so that people like Elon Musk can get an extra vacation.
Another weak jobs report for June. Trump and Republican politicians promised to grow the economy. They failed. Time for change. www.cnn.com/2026/07/02/e...
136 years ago today, Congress said “no” to the railroad and steel barons who ran monopolies with the Sherman Antitrust Act. Even then, we knew that consolidation was dangerous & competition is good for our economy. We need that same courage now to stand up to the robber-baron billionaires of today.
The House of Representatives was sent home early again this week by the Republican majority. I’m sitting here without a tie, and I’ll thank them for that. But we should be working for the American people.
I stopped by the Kennedy Center to show my support for the workers who are at risk of losing their jobs since Trump's illegal takeover. Hard to miss the giant tarp out front, put up so that people can't see Trump's name removed.
Congratulations to Audrey Hosmer, winner of our Congressional Art Competition! It was a pleasure to welcome her to the Capitol, where her artwork will be displayed for a full year, representing our district.
The Reflecting Pool is emerald green and full of algae. Cracks everywhere and $16 million down the drain. That's what a no-bid contract to a major Trump donor gets you.
Congratulations to our top three award recipients, Audrey Hosmer, Amanda Fahy, and Levi Ott, for their outstanding submissions to this year’s Congressional Art Competition!
I spoke with workers at the Kennedy Center who are at risk of losing their jobs because of Trump's illegal takeover. Entire divisions have already been eliminated and now they're coming after the union workers.
Today, we mark 57 years since the Stonewall Uprising, which helped launch the modern movement for LGBTQI+ equality!
I stand in solidarity with the workers at BP's Whiting Refinery in Indiana as they fight for their right to collectively bargain. BP is illegally stopping employees from coming to work and getting paid, making it extremely dangerous for the folks who live nearby in the community.
Today is #EqualityDay – where we celebrate the anniversaries of the landmark LGBTQI+ rights Supreme Court decisions in Lawrence, Windsor, & Obergefell, which legalized same-sex marriage nationwide. These cases changed lives for millions, including my own.
Great to meet another rescued beagle from Ridglan Farms. He used to be identified as KK34, which was tattooed to his ear. Now his name is Gordo!
Trump recommended speaking with the National Park Service to find the "350 foot slit in the reflecting pool." I took his advice.
My staff will be hosting office hours in every county across Wisconsin’s 2nd district. Feel free to ask about our casework services for federal agencies, to issue an opinion, or just to say “hey!” More info at Pocan.House.Gov/Office-Hours.
The Supreme Court just ruled it's legal to turn away people fleeing for their lives at our border. The Statue of Liberty says "give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses." Every Conservative on the Supreme Court said, “actually, nah.”
Thanks to Trump's unnecessary war with Iran, American families have paid up to $1,300 more just for things like food, gas, and clothes.
South Central Wisconsin has so much to offer! It was a pleasure to sit down with leaders from our local tourism and hospitality industry to discuss how we can support their work and the workers who power it.
Great to join @publiccitizen.bsky.social for a town hall last week on tariffs and trade. It’s always important to speak directly with Wisconsin farmers and small businesses to hear about the challenges they are facing on the ground.
Trump took a $400 million bribe... I mean gift... from Qatar: a luxury jet. Not to America, but to him personally. Glad to hear he’s flying in luxury while most Americans are struggling paycheck to paycheck.
