White trans woman, radical lefty, geek, pro web dev, derbyDerbyDerby. Will eat for food, & rock your face off. Or on. On is good. Seattle-ish. Photo by Andrew Ryan: www.npfotography.com (Banner is a photo of me in creepy makeup, smiling disturbingly)
the other day I accidentally took the lid off of my kettle (tea is good) and put it in the mouth of the pitcher. had a moment of "oh dang wish I could do this all the time". so today I turned this lid from a bit of scrap wood left over after the hallway shelf/coatrack build.
I don't know if there are any non-derby Seattle locale peeps that would see this and be interested, but this is one of the few times I'm going to be skating locally, and it happens to be just before my birthday! (Photo credit Mikaela Joy)
less pretty but still very functional and fun… I also made a "these pants and shirt have only been worn for an hour or so and are not dirty yet" hanger to go next to my night stand. it folds. Yeah I put french clear panels in my bedroom leave me alone. (crap wood from an ikea tray table caddy)
needed a hallway coat rack, made a hallway coat rack. scrap white oak and salvaged mahogany.
I am a trans woman athlete. I deserve to be who I am, I deserve to play, I deserve to be able to share my knowledge and my skill, I deserve to win if I can I've done this for 15 years. It is a core part of who I am I am the thing they are all so afraid of, and it hurts so much to be their weapon
Verified report that a local right wing grifter drew a firearm in Cal Anderson park. Seattle area trans and queer communities should become high alert and seriously do not engage. Thankfully he was disarmed after flubbing his draw, dropping his magazine. We may not be so lucky next time.
made a bag to go on my bag. my water bottle didn't easily fit in my gear bag. I've wanted to do this for awhile
I have "I would prefer not to" on my helmet along with some other quotes that really mean a lot to me. there is something so fucking human about it.
I forgot I took a goofy selfie to send to my wife before returning the jacket to order a smaller size.
I don't think there's a world where I'm a doll, and I don't think there's a world in which the majority of people would look at me and say "yep that's a femme person". It's a boat that feels like it has sailed, and I don't have an answer that's any more inclusive, I'm just exhausted.
Speaking of trans rallies: Seattle area! Stand up for your trans neighbors, and those joining us for safety.
sneaking back ahead of a meeting to drop a clip of a slightly competent thing I did over the weekend. I'm grey 226 in the green pants.
got my helmet partially decorated with reflective vinyl. have some black reflective material coming in for the sides too. I wanted something that was a bit more interesting and me than big strips of reflective material. some things are quotes, some lyrics, some from my history, and some just.. are
baby's first cad. needed to modify the tail tidy for my bike, decided to just remodel by hand to learn it
fucked up that my personal happy moment comes right now. that said my motorcycle is back home and working, 3 months after it was stolen and mangled. this was my "congratulations for surviving cancer" present to myself and I missed it horribly
I am being a little lazy with it, they are all using basically the same spice profile. salt, black pepper, garlic powder, garam masala, and cumin. roasted veggies are topped with olive oil, and the beans have paprika (smoked and hot), chopped garlic, and sliced onions on top of the other spices.
