At the end of the third chorus of fours, Coltrane played an arpeggiated lick, and Sonny responded by inverting it. It was as
though Coltrane did a 360 dunk, and Sonny did a reverse 360, effortlessly. "Because of the humor in my music, people have accused me of not really playing, of just playing around. In fact, John told me that about 'Tenor Madness.' He said, 'Aw, man,
you were just playing with me.'"
Decades later, Sonny admitted that Coltrane was right. "I wasn't really playing," Sonny said. "Coltrane was playing. I was only playing halfway, because I thought that I was the guy and that Coltrane was this young whippersnapper. That was my mindset. It was immature."

An image that evokes the feeling of kenopsia (the eerie, melancholic feeling of a place that used to be bustling with people but is now empty and quiet). The picture shows an empty bus stop with a red bench seen from the inside of a bus. This red line is almost the center of the image. One can see vague forms reflected on the windowpane of the bus. There is a green hue to the sidewalk and the inside of the buss which run diagonally in the bottom of the image and almost parallel to the red of the bench.
