Come listen to some tasty jazz and ride bikes with the @kmhd.org ride tonight! Meet in Ladd Circle at 4:30pm, roll at quittin’ time! www.shift2bikes.org/calendar/eve... #jazz #KMHD #pdxBikes #bikeFun #PedalpaloozaPDX #BikeSummerPDX
This year I’ve also got a bingo card for some of the sights and sayings you’re likely to encounter on the ride. Come grab a sheet from me at any of the rides!
(With acknowledgement that the only real way out of this mess is proper funding for transit…) One idea to salvage service on the most essential portion of NE Glisan, including access to the hospital: extend #25 bus west to Cesar Chavez Blvd and terminate at Hollywood Transit Center/MAX station. 1/2
I’m a “once every few years” kind of guy when it comes to Peacock Lane, but you need to know that there’s a MAX train in someone’s display with a functioning “Next stop: Peacock Lane” sign.
They also make it easy for ICE to locate a patient getting care at the hospital. If you’re listed in their public directory, ICE can just ring up & confirm you’re there. Patients might opt in to the directory for the sake of friends/family without realizing the implications. (Details in thread.) 1/
Gave a shout-out to the Portland Frog & friends in my presentation today, to applause — you are all legends and have anti-fascist friends around the world 🐸 #a11yTOConf #a11yTO #a11y #Portland #pdx #antifascist
Wasn’t planning to be a real-life demo of the 2nd person in this image while attending an accessibility conference, but here we are 😅 #a11yTOConf #a11yTO #a11y
Would love to see this as a public tour, @trimet.org! I went on a TfL “Hidden London” to some non-public parts of the Tube system and it was one of my favorite things I did on that trip.
After searching the emoji keyboard for “old,” I would like to speak to the manager.
Next ride is July 14, in North Portland / Vancouver WA. Come get an Inn Between passport for an in(n)ventory of inn stops; mark ‘em off as you go!
I personally like the hourly forecast on weather.gov — it shows the likelihood of rain + amount + likelihood of thunder, which all together gives you some idea of how heavy or consistent. (Example graph just to demonstrate, not PDX forecast.) Graphics are a little crude, but it works.
In the co-op spirit, come help Brooklyn Grocery Cooperative (aka Know Thy Food) move their store to a new location by bike on Sat Sep 28! www.shift2bikes.org/calendar/eve... #bikeMove #moveByBike #bikeFun #pdxBikes #shift2bikes
Coming soon 👀 … #InnBetweenRidePDX #PedalpaloozaPDX #BikeSummer #pdxBikes #bikeFun
My crowning achievement was taking an actually functional ride on the barely-existent and incredibly meandering transit service in my podunk hometown.
