So far adrift in the grief of losing the version(s) of myself that got me here that I failed to see who I was becoming--in more ways than one. I still don't have all the details figured out, but I at least have a foundation. One that I need to sweep some ashes off of, but a foundation nonetheless.
I wouldn't trade that experience, nor being trans for the world though, and sometimes I just need to take the time and remind myself of how far I've come and everything that has led me to this point. I lost sight of that these past few months.
This past January, I started hrt, and I'm not gonna sugarcoat it-- it's been a fucking time and a half. They weren't lying about that second puberty shit, and a lot of that fear that was present years back got louder. It led me to some dark places and to make some stupid decisions I'm not proud of.
So by the time lockout lifted, things were off again. What I thought was just new found agoraphobic and germophobic tendencies turned out to be a pretty big helping of dysphoria too. It's certainly been a few years since, and I haven't been quiet about my queerness either. I still feel scared tho.
Turns out, slapping on a fresh coat of dye doesn't solve everything. I, like many others, found the time in isolation, *illuminating* to say the least. Although, unlike others, I chose not to act upon said discoveries out of fear of losing what little ground I felt I had gained.
A year or so, and an awkward move home with my mother later, I went back to school. A fresh start. With bright pink hair, I introduced myself to new friends and future collaborators as DJ (a gender neutral *enough* name for the time), and things felt right. That is, till the pandemic.
With 1 hour left in pride, I posted a shopped together bisexual and non-binary flag, locked my phone and threw it across the room. I've since likened the act to tossing a live grenade and slamming the door shut.That metaphor turned out to be more apt than I thought. This should be less explosive.
If you'll give me a minute or two, I'd like to take some time to reflect on some things this last day of Pride Month, so STRAP IN!!! Eight years ago, to this day, I came out.

WE'RE TAKING TALAMH BACK, BB!!! I'm so goddamn happy that I get to take the mainline stage again with one of my besties, Threepup, and bring y'all some co-op beat 'em up action. The rest of this list also goes egregiously hard, and I can't wait for July.
15. Fusionfall - Cartoon Network MMO that's kept alive still by fan made projects. Sign me the fuck up. I tried my best to play this game on my family mac back in the day, but was always laggy and choppy for me and to be able to revisit it in any capacity would be a cool full circle moment for me.
