The “egg” is out for the first time this summer. Just been too hot to oven cook outside.
Some people occasionally ask how I spend my days now I’m retired-well-a toy we’d ordered for our grandson arrived today but it also included a free gift of 3 tiny figurines that needed to be put together. As they’d contain bits too small for him-well-that’s how I spend my days 😂
Pot planted onions. First harvest. Red, yellow and white onions 🧅. Amazing what you can generate from a pot.
35 years !! 35 bloomin years. As of today that’s how long this wonderful woman has put up with me as her hubby. Don’t know how or why she’s done it but I’m very pleased that she has. Happy wedding anniversary Diana ❤️
Well blow me over with a feather !! Having worked with Chenopodium amaranticolor for over 30 years as a plant virologist I never ever knew it was called tree spinach and sold as a herb !! Am I the only stupid plant virologist/plant pathologist/ plant scientist out there.

Before I retired, colleagues couldn’t believe that I’d just walk away easily. Saying I was so passionate about science and lecturing and my commitment to the university as a whole. You’ll get bored they said. Err…..no 😂 Best life after 🙃
Our kids never threw out a book their entire lives. Therefore we’ve about 25 years worth stored in our loft for both of them. We’ve finally decided to sort Finding some classics. Fishing with Foster….The legend begins 😂 could change ‘fishing’ for a wide range of things 😂😂😂

As an academic/scientist I might’ve worked on sweet potato diseases for many years. But I’ve still got a lot to learn about growing them outside in the UK. But still not to bad a crop so far 🍠
