Quite interested to know what will happen to a pupil who wants a vocational qualification in an industry area not well represented in their city. Gearing towards local economy is shortsighted.
This is exactly what it will be. Sacrifice to satisfy school performance tables. As a person proudly hailing from the working classes and someone who has seen many, many people rise from humble beginnings to become incredibly successful, I find this whole thing detrimental regardless of intent.
