Hey. You can get some seriously mangled sounds out of this :) Amazing it runs in the browser! Here's a little video of me testing it out. Hope this helps! Full video in link below: www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/snzjr...
Got to see this weird and wonderful display today at @nottinghamtrentuni.bsky.social It's a screen that tracks your head position and measures the distance between your pupils to display a stereoscopic image (alternating rapidly between the view for your left-eye and right-eye) making it look 3D
20 years ago I asked a friend (who's an English teacher) what the weirdest book he'd ever read was. He said "House of Leaves". So I bought it. I've tried to read it about 4 times over the years but only recently got into it. It's pretty far out
Yesterday we set up lights, speakers, a computer, plus 3 depth cameras and 3 VR headsets to demo our Augmented Reality flat screen version, and a multiplayer version of our Mixed Reality performance Replica for a short documentary video. Credits and video on our site : displace.org.uk/replica/
So this is where social media + AI is going - automated mass surveillance - for everyone!
Off to Somerset House to see the Wayne McGregor show :) www.somersethouse.org.uk/whats-on/way...
Great to pop into @bomlab.bsky.social to check out their Virtual Production studio set-up, as part of the CreaTech Frontiers workshops on Unreal, compositing, camera tracking, model making, AI, photogrammetry & 3D scanning, Motion Capture. Skilled team working in central Birmingham + artist-friendly
Yeah. I've seen people with them clipped to debit cards and holding them in their hands. "True Pros". The next thing you know, people will be holding phones like this even though they have always have a speaker at one end, and a mic at the opposite end for a reason...

3rd episode of new Black Mirror series on Netflix has the interesting story of a woman who plays a character in a simulated film. There's a few nods to VR theatre and some other ideas around a players relationship to other game characters, intimacy, agency and so on. Worth a watch
Went fishing in Horizon Worlds with Richard. It was fun! Ditch the kids and weirdos and get social in your own instance with people you know - 1000 times better
This weekend was the premiere of the new Displace Studio Mixed Reality performance REPLICA - dancing with a digital double. We had some incredible feedback and wonderful audience responses. Look out for a new video teaser and future dates, coming soon! Follow @studiodisplace on Instagram.

Would you like to find out how a real and virtual performer can share the same stage? We'll be doing a day workshop in Nottingham in April on how we made REPLICA. www.lakesidearts.org.uk/event/dance-...
We (Displace Studio) are super appreciative of @thespacearts.bsky.social for supporting our current project REPLICA. In early tests people had a strong positive response, it really is innovative, and addresses important issues - with a real performer shoulder-to-shoulder with their virtual double
Experience a real and virtual performer at the same time! Great couple of days rehearsing and testing REPLICA by Displace Studio at Fabric (Nottingham) & Dance East (Ipswich). Premiere at Lakeside Arts (Notts) - Sold Out
Had a fantastic day yesterday testing out the new Studio Displace mixed reality dance performance REPLICA at BOM in Birmingham. REPLICA combines audience interactions with a live and virtual dancer simultaneously. Supported by @thespacearts.bsky.social, NearNow, & @uniofnottingham.bsky.social
Happy New Year! I had one of my best ever, which kicked off with interactive artwork Glimmer with artist Sian Fan shown at Cute at the V&A, then a reboot of the pioneering Mixed Reality multiplayer game Can You See Me Now? with Blast Theory, and ended with the new Displace Studio performance REPLICA
Check out this crazy "inside-out" volumetric capture rig we put together to shoot a scene in our latest mixed reality performance REPLICA. 360° Kinect cameras!
Had a good time at the Digital Body Festival last week with Kerryn Wise as Displace Studio. We spoke about our new Mixed Reality performance REPLICA in which you interact with a virtual performer along side the real one
So cool to play my first Blast Theory game!! Even better cos I worked on it :) Can You See Me Now? was so much fun! Dedicated to an old friend of mine. www.blasttheory.co.uk/news-item/bo...
