From 1922's Aesop's Fable film "Chemistry Lesson." Farmer Al Falfa is looking at a page of a book titled "Life Saver's Manual", with the following recipe:
1 One cake yeast.
2 Two raisins.
3 Four old shoes.
4 One qt. Glue.

This is his recipe for bootleg booze; in the course of the film he distills it and hallucinates.
