If you are following me, you must like cats. Reposting to help moggies and doggies in need to find a forever home, having opinions on NZ politics, occasionally other stuff as well.
Even Muldoon mowed his own lawn, or at least pretended to for the cameras.
Definitely want some of Mamdani’s positivity, energy, and drive to benefit the whole community as much as possible.
Mine’s a little more basic, I just update an online calculator fairly often:
Awesome! Like us (solar upgraded 3 weeks ago), you’ve missed summer - us because the installer wrecked the roof and it had to be replaced - but that just means the best is yet to come! We’re already here, and this month so far have exported more than we’ve imported:
Stay safe, pocket friends, looks like we’re in for a rough 24 hours.
Ours has been running for a couple of weeks now, and today is doing great too. Unfortunately we missed the summer, but we’ll get there. The next year of power bills will be very interesting.
Yeah, so I only did the first part, and got the giggles over the ACT ranking and just had to share! Here’s my full alignment, again no surprise to me, and all the current coalition a$$holes at the bottom:
Book shopping today - lovely Xmas present from my sister. 😍
QOTD: What car do you want most, but know it would be an absolutely miserable experience to own?
So snuggly! These are going to be amazing in the winter. ❤️ #SecretSantaAoNZ
Woohoo, my first ever TOE SOCKS! Gloves for my feet that I mentioned in passing weeks ago. Great sleuthing! And something intriguing for our Christmas party - I have never seen a Lego party game before. So unique! Thank you so much Santa, I love everything. 😍
Finally home, coffee in hand. Time to open my gifts from my Secret Santa! #SecretSantaAoNZ
Send them my way! And your Turkish delight, black jellybeans, and any Bounty bars you might have lying around…. Can’t let them go to waste. (I deliberately bought Dutch double-salt liquorice recently. Yum! 😋🙃)
It’s HERE! My copy of the Good Omens graphic novel has finally arrived in New Zealand. 🇳🇿 And it’s *beautiful*. Thank you so much to everyone who worked so hard, especially @colleendoran.bsky.social @terryandrob.bsky.social @terrypratchett.bsky.social @rhi.bsky.social #GoodOmens
Woohoo, after being ahead of the game last weekend and then getting a bit behind, I still managed to pull everything together on time! 😊 #SecretSantaAoNZ Result:
Two cats, Holly the diffuse tortie, and Midget the black and white ‘cow’ cat.
Local version in the supermarket comes with bits - claimed to be ‘aloe vera chips’, though that doesn’t really clear anything up. Tastes like grape, to me. 😋
Can’t decide who to vote for in the #BirdOfTheYear but here’s a Tui in the Kōwhai next to my office at lunchtime today. A quick and dirty cellphone snap, but I was just so happy to see the bird! 😆
Here’s a photo of what it looked like in the 1930s, from the book ‘This is Woodville’, by local historian Joan McIntyre:
