Weekend in Tahoe with my sister… hiking, making stained glass, bothering her cat, swimming and paddleboarding…. All so so wonderful
I did actually just go get a bookshelf off of Facebook marketplace to replace my janky old set up (second picture) - but also realized I do actually have a lot of my nature non-fiction on this shelf and that the subsection of that collection that I put in the living room is really random lol
Really truly obsessed with these plums I’m getting from work right now… they’re called shiro plums and they taste like sunshine
9/28 - Eureka Valley/Harvey Milk Memorial Library for Pride Sunday! I really like this branch - it’s actually where I got my library card! They have a dedicated lgbtq section. Beautiful, sunny day to walk around in the Castro and I saw the original rainbow flag @ the glbt historical society museum
got to host the engagement party for two dear friends today and it was SUCH a blast. I love love!! I love my friends!!!
It’s very funny what getting a good haircut and also the sun being out will do for your desire to dress cute
had to get a new car in December so I’ve been building a new extremely me collection of bumper stickers
so unbelievable psyched to see lupine in full bloom and the starts of my California poppies 🥹🥹🥹
I did these three together in a long walk - going up and over the hills between twin peaks and mt davidson. It’s really wonderful to have an excuse to explore the city on foot!! i made a lot of notes to self for things I’d like to come back and explore & am thinking about an sf hills quest next year
8/28 - the Noe Valley Branch! I liked this one. it’s cute and bright inside with good vibes. I also liked walking around Noe Valley, which I haven‘t spent a ton of time in before. got some soft serve, read my book. Good vibes!
7/28 - the West Portal Branch! This was a fun surprise - it’s the same design as the anza branch. both were built in the 30s. west portal also very cute and I do like their cool muni tunnel. really my first fully new to me part of the city on this quest which is exciting!!
6/28 - the Parkside Branch! This is in the sunset, which is a reminder of just how big the sunset is. Less distinct feeling than many of the other branches but still nice! Good excuse to go to house of pancakes on taraval st and get their in incredible eggplant tofu.
backpacking is like going on a big quest except you can also do it chill style, you get to eat just so much boxed mac and cheese, and you aren’t being pursued by an enemy
pro tip for catching up on your lord of the year read along: take your book and your best friend and go on a backpacking trip
I really really really cannot get over seeing orcas in the Monterey bay this past weekend. What a magical meeting between worlds 🥹
I do feel really lucky that my yard already came with this very productive rosebush
