Another beautiful morning in the fields. Yesterday, it was just cool enough for my Saturday walk to Prior Park. I let Bella choose our route and she followed her nose all the way up the hill and all the way down again, mostly in shady woods. Have a good day! xx
Paddling in the river at Iford yesterday, little fish darting around my feet, and a cheeky coffee afterwards. What bliss! Have a good day. xx
Gorgeous walk this morning. They cut the grass yesterday so the air is full of that lovely smell. The dogs had a run, then calmed down & had a good sniff, finding just the right spots to roll in. Given the distant fox, you can guess that it was double bath time when we got home. Have a good day! xx
Just about cool enough for a walk into town yesterday. There was a graduation ceremony taking place in the Abbey and they had the doors open - little whoops and cheers as people filed up to collect their degrees. Congrats to all! Then home before the temp soared again. Have a good day! xx
Up a bit later this morning, but we got away with it. Clouds here and there and light playing on the city. Not remotely relaxing because the fields are so rabbity in the mornings, but we all survived. Have a good day! xx
Positively chilly this morning. This week's heat is much more bearable. There is a nice breeze and it takes until afternoon for the heat to really build up. Phew. Here's a pic from yesterday's evening walk. Have a good day! xx
Weather, dogs and Rachels all more temperate this morning, thank goodness. In the evenings, I'm drawn to both the hollyhock view and the light in the lane, which is wonderful. Luckily, I have two dogs so, some evenings, I get to do both walks! Have a good day. Xx
A walk of two halves this morning. First half was pottering round, watching a buzzard, enjoying the early light. Second half, dodging a nemesis of Summer and then having her pull all the way home. Some days it's difficult to love her. But then, that's probably true of all of us. Nobody's perfect.
Out and about early. Little roe deer spotted in the fields. In hindsight, yesterday wasn't the best day to have the boiler serviced - they have to run it to test it so all our radiators were hot. Then we couldn't turn it off. New thermostat/controller installed. Good grief. Have a good day! xx
An enjoyable trip to Frome yesterday to listen to a couple of lit agents at the Frome Festival. I was on the train and got there early so I could walk around in the (relative) cool. A nice wander and a good chat at the ever-lovely Hunting Raven Books. Have a good day! xx
Beautiful morning with the dogs in the fields, but it was topped by a moment of magic yesterday evening. We're still at the point when the setting sun shines along the lane and yesterday we had a bit of company to enjoy the light. Have a good day! xx
One good thing about the sunny weather is that it seems to be a good butterfly year. On a small walk up the lane and back we saw seven different types, all looking very happy. As a writer, I always like to see a well-placed comma! Have a good day! xx
Excited that it's now hollyhock season here and I can get snaps like this. Hopefully we'll get some good sunsets and I'll nip up to my favourite hollyhock spot, but yesterday's wasn't too bad. Have a good day! xx
Lazy day yesterday. I had done my usual Saturday walk on Thursday so here's a snap from that. Have a good day! xx
Out and about super early today, so we did a circuit into town and back. Good start to the day. xx
Yesterday, I walked back from the station through town. A fair few tourists. Easy to forget that people come from all over the world to this little city. I try to appreciate its many charms every day - you shouldn't take anything for granted, should you? Have a good day. xx
Lovely sky this morning. Get your paints out, Rachel! Have a good day. Xxx
Beautifully cool this morning. Dogs driven wild by rabbity smells. Oh dear. Yesterday was a very Sundayish Sunday and all the better for it. Scrabble, walks, nice family lunch and a Grand Prix to watch! Have a good day. xx
Beautiful morning. Started noisily, as first a rabbit and then a squirrel ran down the middle of the road outside our house! We pressed on to the fields and it was stunning. Fresh air, changing light. Nobody about. Happy sigh. Have a good day! Xx
Cooler this morning, with much fresher air. Hallelujah! The Great Cooling has begun. Long may it continue! Have a good day. Xxx
Out early. I let the dogs follow their noses and we ended up walking round the back roads of Widcombe and then back via the canal. Only one diplomatic incident, so fairly standard, really. Now, I'm letting cool air flow through the house before it all heats up again outside. Have a good day! xx

Beautiful solstice morning. Hardly anyone about so we managed a nice circuit of the field and canal. Enjoy the light, stay cool in the heat! Have a good day! xx

Nice and clear this morning, and good news from our walk! A doe that I've been watching on and off on our walks has had her fawn! Too far away for anything other than a blurry photo, but I'm very happy for them. Here are some lovely roses from yesterday's walk to Iford. Have a good day! xx
Another soggy morning, but milder, so that's progress! Here's one from Wednesday evening. A stroll round the cemetery in lovely evening light. Have a good day! xx
Another soggy morning. Yesterday we went to Bristol where the streets are paved with... flowers. Have a good day! xx
Out a bit later this morning to try and dodge the rain. Amazingly, no other dogs around, so that was a win. Yesterday, after torrential rain in the morning we had bright sunshine and I was able to take a cheerful snap of one of my favourite spots, North Parade Passage. Have a good day! xx
We could tell there was Weather on the way on this morning's walk, and got home just as it started to spit spot. Phew! Have a good day! xx
More rain this morning, so another garden dash. Hopefully, we'll get a walk in sometime. Long day in the car yesterday, so no new photos. Here's a bramble bush before the rainy patch, which was busy with bees and looking full of promise for blackberries later in the summer. Have a good day! xx
