Just finished Green City Wars by @aptshadow.bsky.social #45 Beautifully written, witty, great world building, fun characters and a cracking storyline. Is there a political, social or moral issue this book doesn’t address though? This is Animal Farm reimagined! Absolutely brilliant! 👏
Just finished Worlds Apart by Joe Haldeman, part two of the Worlds Trilogy. I think if I’d read this in 1981 I’d have enjoyed it more, it feels a little tired and dated. It’s interesting enough that I’ll probably finish the trilogy though.
Just finished The Saints of Salvation by Peter F. Hamilton. Final book of The Salvation Sequence trilogy. What an amazing story! Humanity’s 10,000 year struggle, evolution and ultimate victory over alien religious nuts, the Olyix. Think B. Galactica and V with tons of other cool stuff thrown in!
Just finished Worlds by Joe Haldeman. Part 1 of the Worlds trilogy. Not what I expected, but an interesting read just the same. Really seemed to be just a long introduction to the world and the characters, setting things up for the two following books.
Just finished Salvation Lost by Peter F. Hamilton. In the near future, Humanity’s struggle to survive against the Olyix invasion continues, while in the far future the fightback begins! Great stuff! 👍 On now to the final book in this series.

Went looking for the Yellow Bellied Sapsucker again and instead found this little guy taking advantage of the Sapsucker’s work! I was today years old when I learnt this was not just a different species, but a different genus than the European red squirrel.
Just finished Salvation’s Child, a graphic novel by Adrian Tchaikovsky. I haven’t read a ‘comic since The Beano in 1974 so this was a new experience.😜 Enjoyed the story and the artwork is beautiful, but this format is not for me. Still counting as # 44 in the pursuit of the AT half century! 😁
Just finished The Three Body Problem by Cixin Liu. An enjoyable read, some very interesting and novel concepts. The book is a translation from Chinese, and I admit I did find the writing a bit ‘clunky’ at times. On to the next one though! Thx to Rob for the recommendation 👍
Just finished The Forever War by Joe Haldeman (again!) Rarely re-read books these days as there’s just so many I want to read, but I had a hankering, and this is such an absolute classic! 👍

Just finished The Light Brigade by @kameronhurley.com This one certainly deserves all the praise and accolades it received. A dark, depressing tale of unending, brutal, pointless war, and an Earth fully controlled and exploited by the rich and corporations

Just finished The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton. A brain burning Agatha Christie, Quantum Leap, Groundhog Day mash up. A really fun read, but challenging at times to keep all the timelines straight.
Just finished Carl’s Doomsday Scenario. Book 2 of the Dungeon Crawler Carl series by Matt Dinniman. Just as silly as the first but a fun read. Will I continue? Probably, but I’ve a few others I want to read before trying book 3.
Just finished The Tinder Box by M.R. Carey, a dark fairytale loosely based on the Hans Christian Anderson story. Bloody brilliant 👍 The lines between good and evil become blurred as Carey addresses the issues of inequality, power, slavery, misogyny and exploitation. Love the dark humor too.
