Karen Limper-Herz, M. Michèle Mulchahey, DesBib lab instructor Donna Sy & RBS staff members Barbara Heritage, Piper Farmer & Katie Hodges-Kluck examined a pasteboard book cover at lunch today. Farmer is describing this & two other detached covers bearing medieval waste for use in future RBS classes.
While RBS courses are in session, other activities are going on behind the scenes in Charlottesville. This week Annika Armstrong is working on a 19th-c anatomical aid for embalmers. The book has many fold-out flaps that need to be repaired and reinforced before it can be used by future RBS classes.

We remember RBS emeritus faculty member Donald W. Krummel, who passed away on 25 June. From 1990 through 2008, Don taught courses at RBS, including The History of American Music Printing & Publishing and How to Research a Rare Book. We are grateful for Don’s contributions to the RBS community.
