Guides and Tips to Master Raspberry Pi, Python & Linux
You just run it inside Raspberry Pi OS like an app. So Linux handles all the annoying hardware stuff. That’s the part that surprised me… Internet works. sound works. files just show up. No weird fixes, no USB dongles, nothing. It’s slower, yeah. but way less frustrating.
I used to think running Windows on a Pi just wasn’t worth the headache. Every time I tried… something broke. Usually Wi-Fi. or drivers. or both. This VM thing (Botspot) kinda flips the idea. You don’t install Windows on the Pi anymore.
🚀 NVMe is overkill — in the best way. 5–10x faster than SD cards. But you need a Pi 5, a compatible case or HAT, and a bigger budget. If you're building something serious and already own a Pi 5, this is the one.
⚡ SSDs are the sweet spot for most people. Noticeably faster, way more reliable, great for write-heavy projects. Yes, you'll need an adapter. Yes, it's a bit messy. Worth it for Pi 4/5 users who want solid, consistent performance.
🖱️ USB drives feel like an upgrade but… they're kind of not? Benchmarks show the speed bump is barely noticeable in everyday use. The real perk: they're cheaper at higher capacities and easy to swap between devices.
💾 SD cards are still fine for most people. Cheap, tiny, zero setup. But they wear out fast under heavy writes. Running a server? They'll eventually fail. Use them for lightweight projects and beginner stuff.
SD cards, USB drives, SSDs, NVMe… picking storage for your Raspberry Pi is more complicated than it used to be. Here's the breakdown so you don't have to figure it out the hard way. 🧵

Still booting from an SD card? Upgrading to NVMe made a huge difference for me. #raspberrypi
I’ve been using Pi for years… and even I didn’t know some of these were possible. #raspberrypi
I’ve noticed self-hosting Bitwarden on a Pi sounds like a Docker project. It’s not really. Docker is the easy part. The security setup (and HTTPS in particular) is what matters.
The Raspberry Pi Zero may be small, but these 16 projects prove it’s powerful. #raspberrypi
