Such along long time to be here, and a short time to be.
Jerry hanging out in the rain and snow shelter on this 30th day of May 2026. Built him a shelter 3 years ago when he chose us the rescue him by deciding to live under our back deck. Fast forward to today and yes he lives in the house but still returns to where he feels safe.
A little astronomy to take away from the rage reading and posting. This is NGC 6888 aka The Crescent Nebula. It is the result or WR136 a Wolf-Rayet star. This is 8.5 hours of LRGB + OIII, Ha and SII. Plan on doubling and then some the amount of subs once the sky clears again. #astrophotography
My favorite sci-fi author and books. All of the Tales of Known Space. The Mote in God’s Eye and The Gripping Hand need to be movies. I asked Larry at SLC FanX 2024 about movies and his books and he was open to the idea and said some have been talked about for years.
Three years ago I found this guy living under our deck in our fenced in backyard. His name is Jerry. He also never leaves my side and follows me for most of the day.
Started collecting photons on 12/25/25. 27.5 hours on a mono camera using 7 filters. Optical tube is a PW CDK 12.5 on an AP1100GTOAEL. M1 or The Crab Nebula. 2nd photo is a negative showing structure in grey scale. #astronomy #astrophotography
Tonight is a clear and cold evening. Moon is only a couple of days old and is setting. I’m shooting the object NGC 2359 or Thor’s Helmet is an emission nebula located in Canis Major. Running a PW CDK 12.5, AT 152EDT and a AT 90CFT. One reflector and two APO refractors. Up close, mid and wide field.
I bought 64gigs of DDR5 3 months ago for $450 in anticipation of building a new system. Those same 64gigs now cost $1000. 5090 video cards if you can find them are $4000-$5000. Yes there a some cheaper but good luck getting one. Cheapest part of the build was $11 for a windows 11 pro key.
Add me the list of being there for those three shows along with 15 over 5 weekends and 2 years at the sphere. Now I really have had this may be the last time….. 47 years for me was a hell of a run RIP Robert Hall Weir.
Loved the Fox Theater in Atlanta. This run started in Miami. We were so fortunate to of been alive while Jerry, Bobby, Billy, Mickey, Brent and Phil played to us night after night as we ventured the roads of America searching for the sound. Some still call it that last Great American adventure.
I was at this show. Gave my brother and his gf(their 1st show) some tickets and doses and found them outside afterwards laughing and having a grand ol time. This one is still burned into my mind.
19 shows in the past 2 years with Bobby. Over 400 since 1979. Thank you Robert Hall Weir for one hell of a ride through the universe.
This is what comes to mind when ever that face is presented anywhere today….
I say we take this style back from those other guys since they have all become ICE and HSI. The anti govt guys became the govt jack booted thugs. It ought to confuse the fuck putt of them the first few encounters. It’s our turn to do a little dancing.
Someone said it is one of those days to drink coffee. I thought that was everyday and then some. #nationalcoffeeday
