The lady I spoke with said I'd done well, that if they weren't injured, they'd likely reunite with their mother after dark, and to just keep that tote in place to ward off predators until night. So I did. Night fell, time to move the tote! None too soon, it seems; the boldest one was ready to go!

Holy cow!! Baby owls!! No wonder the crows were trying to get through that box; it was too heavy for them to move. I didn't want the crows to get these adorable little fuzzballs, so I grabbed a grocery tote and a 10# dumbbell and carefully placed it, open side to the wall, around the owlets.

Storytime🧵: Today, I heard repeated dull thumping coming from the front step. Confused, I opened the door and saw four crows fly off from right in front of me. Looking down, I had a package with strips pulled off and holes pecked in the cardboard. Ok, that's odd. Picking up the box, I saw:

This is how I try to compensate the partner's team for needing to come into the studio on a weekend: A dozen each blueberry crumble, apple cinnamon, strawberry, and double-chocolate muffins. And three keto lemon cream muffins.
