I was pleased to attend the inauguration of Herbert and Estelle Brown Park in Sandy Hill this week. It was a honour and privilege to second Rideau-Vanier Councillor Stephanie Plante’s motion to rename the park after such important Ottawa entrepreneurs and community builders.

Enjoyed a tour of the rehabilitation of Saints Peter and Paul Melkite Catholic Church in Overbrook with parish members during the church’s 13th annual festival celebrating the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul.
It was wonderful to join Cornerstone Housing for Women last weekend at its annual community BBQ and arts sale at its supportive housing residence in Westboro! Over the past year, residents worked alongside Minwaashin Lodge to create beautiful art and handmade goods!
It was amazing to attend the Repair Fair at Heartwood House on McArthur Avenue last weekend where skilled menders from EcoEquitable offered free minor repairs to help extend the life of well-loved garments and sewing machines, alongside the Heartwood House thrift sale!

Earlier this month, I was pleased to drop by the Green Fair Ottawa: Innovation + EV Showcase at the Ottawa Conference & Events Centre in Overbrook. The event featured workshops, an outdoor fair, an indoor exhibition and an EV and e-bike showcase with test drives!
Great to see Indigenous entrepreneur Natasha Commanda receive a 2026 Top Forty Under 40 award from the Ottawa Board of Trade and the Ottawa Business Journal this week. This recognition is given to young business and community leaders across the region.
