I was pleased to attend the inauguration of Herbert and Estelle Brown Park in Sandy Hill this week. It was a honour and privilege to second Rideau-Vanier Councillor Stephanie Plante’s motion to rename the park after such important Ottawa entrepreneurs and community builders.

Picked up a copy of “The Sport of Never Growing Up” by local author Jean-Pierre Allard at @booksonbeechwood — a deeply personal memoir of resilience, loss, and hope set here in Ottawa. Jean-Pierre will be back for a book signing on Aug 22. Support local authors & bookstores!

I held an excellent and engaging public consultation in Manor Park last weekend focused on planned improvements to Alvin Heights Park.

Enjoyed a tour of the rehabilitation of Saints Peter and Paul Melkite Catholic Church in Overbrook with parish members during the church’s 13th annual festival celebrating the Feast of Saints Peter and Paul.

It was wonderful to join Cornerstone Housing for Women last weekend at its annual community BBQ and arts sale at its supportive housing residence in Westboro! Over the past year, residents worked alongside Minwaashin Lodge to create beautiful art and handmade goods!

It was amazing to attend the Repair Fair at Heartwood House on McArthur Avenue last weekend where skilled menders from EcoEquitable offered free minor repairs to help extend the life of well-loved garments and sewing machines, alongside the Heartwood House thrift sale!

Had an amazing time at the Multicultural Event hosted by the Wateridge Village Community Association last weekend, sponsored by local-area businesses!

It was wonderful to join the Rockcliffe Park Residents Association and the Rockcliffe Park Foundation at a joint reception this week which honoured Canada Day!

Recently, I joined Ottawa-Vanier-Gloucester MP Mona Fortier to celebrate the grand opening of MyLook Vision Care, a new family-owned optical practice in Manor Park.

Earlier this month, I was pleased to drop by the Green Fair Ottawa: Innovation + EV Showcase at the Ottawa Conference & Events Centre in Overbrook. The event featured workshops, an outdoor fair, an indoor exhibition and an EV and e-bike showcase with test drives!

Great to see Indigenous entrepreneur Natasha Commanda receive a 2026 Top Forty Under 40 award from the Ottawa Board of Trade and the Ottawa Business Journal this week. This recognition is given to young business and community leaders across the region.

Amazing to address and attend the World Multicultural Festival at City Hall last weekend with Deputy Mayor Wilson Lo who proclaimed Ottawa Multiculturalism Week, along with Councillor Tim Tierney.
