Post a pic you took, no context, to bring some Zen to the feed

Looks like a black and white photo, but, it is just early morning with some high, hazy clouds at the end of January in northeastern woods. This is a clearing with pine trees all around and a small cabin in the lower middle with snow on the roof. There's a sled trail cut through the snow from the bottom center of the picture that leads to the cabin.

None of these. Mine was similar to this, but, slightly more brick-like. I once dropped this into fresh concrete, fished it out, hosed it off and it kept working.

Ridiculous article interviewing retired barflies watching The Price is Right with their morning beers in Nisswa, Minnesota is at the top left, above the fold like these people deserve to be listened to. They probably think of Brainerd as a city and Duluth as a pit of sin. And Shelia Eldred, Elizabeth Stawicki, and Kurt Streeter are taking them about Minneapolis-StPaul as if they have a clue.

Below that leader, there's a teaser to page 19 that says "ICE and Fire: Minnesota embodies a civic ideal that President Trump wants to discredit." That could have been the bigger article. In the middle is Trump's War on Immigration: Year 1. There's a special section. On the upper right is "How Activists In Iran Combat Web Blackout" and "Trump to Impose New Tariff Rates Over Greenland". I noticed that @nicolaz.bsky.social is mentioned in the Crime & Mystery section of the NY Time Book Review for the Aud trilogy!

Griffith's cool, beautiful, knife-sharp trilogy -- first published between 1998 and 2007 -- is finally back in circulation. Stay (Picador, 305 pages, paperback, $20) and The Blue Place (Picador, 320 pages, paperback, $20) are less about crime, and more about Aud Torvingen, a six-foot blond Norwegian American private investigator confident of her capacity for violence and retribution, and less sure about her ability to truly love. Always (Picador, 518 pages, paperback, $20) is a lengthier (and less successful) narrative, but still filled with unforgettable scenes, such as the ones where Aud teaches self-defense to a group of women.

I am pissed. Or sad. Annoyed. Well it is going down to 9°F where I am (≈ -13C) by the time I'll be waking up tomorrow. Last night, I got to have this in the room I'm in. (At an elderly friend's place, but they're not taking as good care of it as their parent did).
