Since I live nearby I took this picture a couple days ago at 23cm. It shows the almost dry Nahe river "flowing" into the remaining Rhine in the background.

Has the world gone mad? Why does every session at a scientific conference need to have this stupid inaccurate Buzzword in it? #EGU26 Am I the only one horrified by this? Yes, the methods can be useful but why do we all have to use this widely inaccurate umbrella term?

The term digital twins of the Earth is misleading. We joined the discussion with our new paper sesmo.org/article/view... We argue that we 1) should not call them twins as they remain models that are distinct from reality and 2) that we need better methods to rigorously investigate complex models.
