Trump: I'll tell you right now, hundreds of thousands. You have one man came in with a family had said he had 56 children. Another one came in - they said they had 98 children.

Do white Americans realize that they also have birthright citizenship? You’re American because of where you were born, not because of your blood or genes or because you eat hamburgers or whatever.

Friends near #NewHaven: I have a print (from the @bookprintcollectiv.bsky.social "Hyphenated American" print portfolio) on display at the Haas Family Art Library at Yale, in an exhibit called "An Artist's America: Towards a More Perfect Union." If you get there let me know what you think.

Maduro and others were indicted in 2020 by the Southern District of New York when Bill Barr was Attorney General. This morning, Pam Bondi announced an indictment. It's not yet clear whether that is a new indictment or a related one. Since Maduro's wife was taken along with him, and she was not named in the original indictment, it's likely that at a minimum, the old indictment has been superseded (amended).

My exhibition "Touch Jamaica" continues through October 31. Regular hours are Tuesday through Saturday 12-4, but King Manor Museum is open today for the last day of a special exhibition of an original print of the Constitution. (Still relevant, but for how long?! 😭)

Samples I saved from a recent #papermaking visit with a friend.

Small, roughly circular samples of dried paper pulp in various colors (ochre, pink, magenta, off white, & brown). They also have bits of plant matter and shimmery pigment embedded in them.

Everyone hates that paramilitaries are spreading through our communities and attacking our neighbors, and this is the mailer that serial groper Andrew Cuomo thinks will help get him elected 🙄🙄🙄

Found a bunch more books to donate to Haitian Studies Institute tucked away here & there all over the apartment. So much has been written about Toussaint L'Ouverture!

A pamphlet titled "Toussaint L'Ouverture" by Marie Stuart. The cover in black and white, and a drawn portrait of Toussaint (facing left, wearing his general's uniform and a tricorner hat) fills the lower 3/4 of it.

The relief that I cast from an oak tree a few weeks ago needed a lot of curation and reinforcement (thanks gale force winds! 💨🥲) (This is part of my project to examine local history by using handmade paper to cast surfaces & structures in the neighborhood.)

Cast paper relief sculpture in patches of blue, off white and green. It is vaguely rectangular but with irregular edges, wrinkly, and has 4 or 5 vertical ridges correlating with the bark of the tree it was cast from.
