I took this yesterday, hours before sunset. We knew global warming would bring some changes but yikes!
Hey, let's check the temperature and conditions in the neighborhood where Mexico City's stadium is.
I mean Stephen Miller and *this guy* want to keep pregnant women out!
I'm sure this man has ideas as fresh and up-to-date as his hairstyle.
Having a wonderful time in Provincetown which has absolutely perfect weather (unlike last year when we scattered my mother’s ashes here) and despite the fact that I spent over $25 on a vegan breakfast scramble and orange juice this morning. It was good but… #PIFF28
What is this fucking headline? This fucking Nazi, domestic abuser loser has been endorsed by Chuck Schumer FFS. There's never been a lack of "embrace" there (including by the fucking mainstream media except for a few feminists and you know other people who have standards).
For those who are using the NY Times article to minimize the domestic violence it describes, there's actually more as Lyndsey Fifield, the woman the article is mostly about, explained on X.
Oh shit, is Jamir Nazir (a made up fucking name if I ever heard one) another white guy writer pretending to be a "disadvantaged" PoC? Maybe.
Second Mother’s Day after Mum’s death. I always made her pecan rolls from scratch which some years she loved and other years she complained about. I made them again this year and they came out pretty well.
Vegan Easter breakfast al fresco in Mexico City: asparagus with hollandaise, Just Egg and homemade fried dough. Not shown: vegan smoked salmon. And the one filled chocolate I made that didn’t break when I took it out of the mold. They were delicious nonetheless.
The march also had someone wearing a Trump mask in a prison orange jumpsuit, “handcuffed” with a big sign on “him” that said “Pedophile.” This march went on *for hours*.
I was in Mexico City for it today and the whole fucking city was shut down so women could march in the streets, wear purple and glitter and decry patriarchy. It was great !
Once again pointing out that Mexico City has free, mass vaccinations for measles and that this ad campaign is also on public transit, which *a lot* of people here use (the fare is 30-35 cents). Mexico does not have more money than the US does. The US not doing this is a choice.
Ah, Mexico City, I knew you wouldn’t let me down!
My Mexican living Christmas tree: a mandarin orange one. It was a bitch to get it to my place, but worth it!
This stuff, not the kind I’ve had in the U.S.
Since I’m in Mexico City for Christmas this year I’m thinking of getting a miniature orange tree as my living Christmas tree. They’re taller here than in the US too.
Earlier we went to the anthropology museum and saw these perfect monsters.
2nd day of my six month stay in Mexico City. The friend who helped wrangle my cats here suggested a Lucha Libre tour outside of which we saw these murals (for my friend’s spouse @realsupergirl.bsky.social).
Last day in Mexico City, but I’m coming back sooner than you might think.
Pink taco (not a euphemism) birthday dinner in Roma Norte CDMX. It was so good!
Beautiful flowering trees in Roma Norte, Mexico City. It reminds me of LA, where I spent my last birthday, except this time, no roaches in the lovely place where I'm staying. My birthday wish today is for Donald Trump's ouster, one way or another. I'm not the only person wishing this.
Apparently the Republicans in the Senate just confirmed this guy to a lifetime federal judgeship.
Am sitting on a shady bench in the Common since today is supposed to be the last day until Thursday it is comfortable to do.
We saw seals and played Aretha Franklin, whom my mother loved.
On Saturday 16 of us who were Mum’s friends and family toasted her, had a nice meal together and then helped scatter her ashes in Provincetown Harbor. It was a nice closure.
My mother died, very quickly, in March, but I made a variation of the brunch I’d been making for her most of my adult life today: homemade pecan rolls, fruit with cream and sparkling cider instead of her Asti Spumante. It was good.
Rhubarb pie (I make a tiny version) came out tasting and looking great.
