I loved seeing you all out and about over the last week! As always, the cream puffs from the Racine County Farm Bureau and YFA at the County Fair and the Starving Artist Fair were fantastic summer events. Thanks to everyone who worked hard to pull off these fairs!

For more than 35 years, the Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program has been key to protecting and preserving our state’s natural spaces. But due to Legislative Republicans’ unwillingness to work with us, critical funding will end this week, impacting major projects and upkeep.

Hudson and I are excited to share that our baby girl Ingrid has arrived! We are all doing great and are so happy to be able to spend the summer with our little girl here in Racine. Our only disappointment is that we can't teach her to swim in Lake Michigan just yet...

Hi, everyone! I’ve got an exciting update to share with you. My Husband, Hudson, and I are growing our family and welcoming our first child very soon! I will be taking a little time to spend with my loved ones.

I had a great time flipping pancakes at Pancake Day this weekend! This event has always been a favorite in my family, and this year was no different. A little Racine fun fact: these amazing grills were built by Modine over 60 years ago! And are lovingly cared for each year.

I’m excited to be flipping pancakes this Saturday at Roma Lodge in Racine for Pancake Day! This marks the 70th year of this annual fundraiser with proceeds going to programs like Toys for Tots, Cops N Kids, and Safe Haven. Come by and fill up on some breakfast!

Happy Earth Day, Wisconsin! As Wisconsinites, we’re fortunate enough to live in a state with some of the most beautiful and vibrant natural spaces. From our state parks and lakes to local trails and forests, our environment is worth preserving.

What am I up to when we aren't in legislative session?

Early voting starts today, Wisconsin! Spring elections include many important races, including local and judicial elections. Be sure to make your voice heard. Visit myvote.wi.gov for more information about who will be on your ballot and where to vote.

I am thrilled that Gail’s Law was signed into law today. Women in our state deserve greater access to breast cancer screenings, and we have made real progress in that direction with this bill.

Access to healthcare is essential, especially for women recovering from giving birth and caring for newborns. As someone who is about to become a mom, I am proud to have co-authored Postpartum Medicaid Expansion, fought for its passage, and voted for it on the Assembly floor.

I’m excited to be spending some time today serving at Empty Bowls! This is a great opportunity to support a great cause and enjoy good food.

Looking back on last week’s floor session, I am immensely proud of all that we did to pass Gail’s Law and postpartum medicaid expansion. Years of persistent advocacy resulted in securing these wins for women and families.

This is the last night of the legislative session and Republicans have made it clear that they’re ready to gavel out early for an extended vacation. Even with some wins, there is still so much to do.

Finally.  The people of Wisconsin have been asking Legislative Republicans to pass postpartum medicaid expansion for years and years and years.

We are business Assembly business today until we take action to move postpartum Medicaid expansion and Gail’s Law forward.

Legislative Republicans continue to prioritize culture wars over the real issues facing Wisconsinites. On the Assembly floor today, they went to every possible length to avoid a vote to protect access to abortion and the right to contraception in Wisconsin.

I loved getting the chance to meet interns from the Wisconsin Community Youth Corps and learn about some of the research they’re doing on foster care in Racine County. I’m lucky to have young leaders like them in my district and excited to see what comes next for them!
