I can’t explain why but I have been laughing about this comic for days now. I’m sure there is history and context to it that, ngl, I know nothing about.

"Why are people leaving this website?" Well... if you have literally any amount of notoriety a lot of your time on the site goes like this. I know I shouldn't engage with this kind of person but I need y'all to know that this is ~more than half of the kinds of replies a lot of folks (like me) get.

An account with a blacked out username replies to me saying "Why? Really?" I respond with "If you click the link in the post you just replied to, you will find the answer to your questions." The person then responds "It was rhetorical... Why would women even bother?" I reply "The answer to that question is also in the story :)" This person replies "You missed it! Take care Trumper!"

Anyway, here are two people who make and operate this website, just FYI.

Two Bsky posts, one by @why.bsky.team which says "Until December of last year I was using LLMs as fancy autocomplete for coding. It was nice for scaffolding out boilerplate, or giving me a gut check on some things, or banging out some boring routine stuff.

In the past two months Claude has written about 99% of my code. Things are changing. Fast"

The other by Paul Frazee (CTO of Bsky) which says: "A year ago, I thought LLMs were kind of neat but not that useful. I saw the code autocomplete and thought, meh.

Last summer just flipped. I never ever thought I would see automated code generation like we see now.
