More Greek myth and adapt my GORGON novels. If nothing else I’d love to see how he’d do Medusa with as little CG as possible
Feeling satisfied with Gorgon 3 rewrites tonight. Focused on a set-piece I’ve had in mind back when writing the second book. Feels far more epic than before.
Cashing out gift card and points on B&N’s website is always random “this ain’t gonna be on the shelf” choosing from my wishlist
So much fun. A mix of Rankin/Bass Hobbit/Return of the King, Jim Henson fantasy, and a sprig of Conan. A pure joy of a book.
It was.. WAY too much lol. Mexican cheese blend + Aged cheddar, Rao Margherita sauce, pepperoni, fajita chicken, and chorizo sausage…tastes so good! And I got the bottom half to still cook lol This thing, damn beast of a pretzel. How it looks as a whole:
Legit can’t recall reading a book that starts with “once upon a time” - this one does.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Brisk, lean read that doesn’t dawdle and jumps into the deep end very quickly. There’s ample blood & gore, nightmarish imagery, but not as much tension. Emphasizes the Action in Action / Horror. Quick afternoon / evening read.
Happy Birthday to my friend @countvonkit.bsky.social who graciously let me use his face for my vampire novel 🎂🧛🏻♂️
Forgot it’s B&N’s @criterion.bsky.social sale, so spent more than intended. But, could’ve spent more. thankfully the back catalogue at my local had been picked by someone with similar tastes 😂
Quite enjoyed this dark fantasy romance. Good book to end pride on.
Also picked up on discount from @vinsyn.bsky.social - graphic novel of Fulci’s ZOMBI II and a graphic novel sequel… These are huge, much bigger than I expected. Has anyone read them?
New @vinsyn.bsky.social releases. Yes, I’m an unapologetic fan of Tobe Hooper’s MANGLER
Work kicking my arse and all I want is time to relax properly and read some aquatic gay horror
Sounds good! Loved the food I had there and did my best to eat off the tourist path. Next trip really want to see the countryside. That’s the one! Spent a lot of time on my Barnes & Noble app seeing if I could get some books stateside and picked up a few Their dangling xeno from Alien 4 was cool
Oh yes, I’m reporting Junk from “Jeff X” from Y Publisher. Better off self-publishing than “selling” the rights to publishers who basically do Amazon/B&N etc Self-Publishing as their outlet. Besides, texting during dinner? No manners for a bot.
Chili pizza (on cornmeal crust) a comfort food fav for what’ll be a terrible week & weekend coming up.
If you see this, post a vampire that isn't Dracula. Caelius Indos (modeled by my friend @countvonkit.bsky.social ), - the scion of an old vampire bloodline, is tasked with uncovering the motives behind ritualistic massacres.
Enjoying a 1664 after a crap day at work. Goes very well with pizza. While I was in Sweden, I got partial to Norrlands Guld - sadly can’t get in my area of the states.
Monster Hunter meets MasterChef wrapped in fantasy dystopia. Imaginative, fun, clever, tense, emotional, and brutal; this certainly a hard R. Sequel arrives in July and can’t wait.
That’s about the age I was exposed to them, perhaps 6. One of my favorite VHS tapes was a documentary series called DINOSAUR! hosted by Walter Cronkite. It was like, childhood dream fulfilled and in that moment I could’ve died a happy man.
The Insta Algorithm has pushed me AI made trailers for indie novels. While I understand the temptation, I also think of one thing: is there novel AI as well? I’ll never go AI for my writing or, despite temptation in weakness, with marketing. *After Wolf trailer by human hands #writerslife
Finally visited an indie bookstore near me. Lovely little shop, picked up some titles that sounded interesting plus bookmark.
Even as I fret over and over Gorgon 3 (editing & second guessing myself) - I got some peace in a way. Wrote the opening chapter for a World War 1 horror novel. Plan to really focus on mood / atmosphere for that. Plus one of my triggers. And, wrote the prologue for the Extended SUNCHASERS
One of my all time favorites and top two comfort films. I wish instead of some other films like I, Robot that got post-converted to 3D for home; that this was. THEM! was intended for 3D, but never shot as the fad was dying. But they still shot it like it was gonna be done in 3D.
