Sad to hear that Scott Hawley passed away. He was an amazing educator and enthusiastic scientist. Together with Michael Ashburner they led the Drosophila @cshlnews.bsky.social course which changed my scientific life. I am sure that up there they now discuss variegation and non-disjunction mechanisms
