Cycling, camping, cycling and camping, SAABs. Bit of everything really. A bit left of Castro
I love that you’re so afraid of a bit of snow that you spent tens of thousands on a car. Sane people would just buy a decent coat and shoes. You’ve been brainwashed into thinking that dependency on cars is normal. There was snow before cars. People carried on with their lives
“Hi thanks for your call, but Cipo can’t take it right now as he’s relaxing by the pool whilst the rest of his team suffer through the remainder of the tour. Sucks to be them”
Quite possibly. This is my current one and I’m just waiting for my bike to work to end so I can get a Fratello as well - with mudguards and dynamo lighting.
Why would you want the line you need to overtake to be 2-3 times longer? That makes it more dangerous for you. As an “educator”, I’d expect you to have some critical reasoning skills.
I mean the threads that the bolts screw into - the ones in the shoe. If you look at these holes, you’ll see they’re not threaded.
Good job we’ve only had slightly above average height people in the last 20 years or so. Don’t know what they would have done before the Nissan Qashquai was released. My other best mate also 6’+ had a Pug 205 GTi and then a Mini. That must be why the Dutch build SUVs like this one
Thank you. I haven’t done a proper update; haven’t had the will to sit down and write up lots! It was good: Likes: Garmin PowerGuide, Galibier.cc clothing, Marlborough Bike shop Dislikes: Gels, energy drinks and gnats/midges (5 minutes break and I’m bitten to hell)
Met a friend at lunch hence no update. Currently sitting in the shade on the grass in Chiddingfold. Less than 90km to go, less than 300m of climbing. Not stopping again. Putting the hammer down now.
Got to Leigh Delamere for breakfast. Slightly under 25% done (which is weird), but feeling good. Following Garmin’s power guide which has me going slow, but done the one decent climb comfortably seated so it’s working. So far so good 😊
So today’s the day! 200 miles here I come! I slept well enough, but pleased that it wasn’t as hot as it’s going to be. Good breakfast of scrambled eggs on toast. Good to go. I’ll make this a thread of my trip. Next update in 82km when I stop for second breakfast.
Agreed! I started going because I’m lucky enough to have a velodrome 10 minutes away and I have a track bike that I was getting ready sell as I didn’t use it. It will be a god-send in winter when I won’t want to ride outside.
